I'll remember your name for the wrong reasons Crytek

Post » Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:22 am

I really gave you guys a chance, the most fundamental issue is fixing game play on MP, if people decide to boost and cheat whilst that is their style of play it is not the number one priority, we can deal with boosters online just how we did on Call of Duty.

Now you neglected hit detection, which is so bad and causes more frustration and anger when you unlock a full clip from an assult riffle into someone and they don't die only for them to turn around and kill you.

I'm trading this game in whilst I can still get what I paid for it; I will remember your name Crytek, whilst Single Player was visually great it is Multi Player which keeps people interested and brings in income to your Puppet masters EA who encourage you to make Map Packs.

Enthusiastic gamers belong in communities and we all will remember this pathetic experience on-line and will pass on this information to prevent anyone else buying such a broken game.

Sorry to hear that, bro. A lot of people are indeed frustrated including myself, but like I have said in numerous threads, this is a risk you take when deciding to be an early adopter. A wobbly online experience is not uncommon a short time after the release of any online game and I'll tell you to wait it out until they iron out the problems but it's probably too late.

Its only been a week for FFS lol

The game has online issues but nothing game breaking, and this is coming from a UK gamer getting into matches with US and other european connections on a single red bar having all the advantage

Also remember it takes time for MS to certify patches, so who knows if they already are working on the patch to be certified then it could be any day now.....but so many OTT reactions to this on both sides of the Atlantic make me glad when the patch does come, they wont be online to annoy me

But its not just the online is it. The single player is just as bad. AI spinning around in circles, guards climbing inside walls, enemies running into barriers on a loop without stopping, weapon attachments like the pistol silencer never unlocking. Even the main draw to the game being the graphics dont even work properly as people are witnessing noise grain and screen tearing on large scales. People are even having problems with controller set ups too so basically the game is unplayable and the OP is right. People who play this game will be telling people not to buy this game. Its consumer power and it is the only reason updates happen.

Who are we trying to kid? Devs dont care about us as people once we have bought the game theyre just worried that we wont help them sell their product and make more money by telling our friends to check it out.

I just feel sorry for the people who dont play on the internet (there are still a lot of black spots even in the UK) they cant get an update and they will have to put up with this great concept poorly executed game.

I too will remember the name Crytek, and the horrible injustice they committed upon Majnu 007 by not properly patching mp to his specifications. While your hopes and dreams may have been crushed, we will remember you, and gamestop will always be there to give you 75% less than what you paid for the game.

The reason why I am not giving it a chance is based on my experience with Black Ops. They brought in lag compensation into the netcode which caused all sorts of hit detection issues. Patch after patch they could not sort out their problem so I highly doubt that Crytek can do the same.

I really feel sorry for Cry-Tom (community manager) because like Josh Olin he is the public facing figure who will get lynched on-line by frustrated gamers.

I swear Battlefield 3 bloody better get it right. I'll probably pick this game up again when it drops down in price. I got it cheap enough in the first place for £26 from the EA store so I can probably make a profit on it by trading it in at HMV or flogging it on ebay.

So far I traded in Black Ops, HomeFront and now Crysis 2 because of MP issues. I guess BFBC and MW2 will keep me going for my FPS thirst until Battlefield 3 comes out ;-)

Check out Game. They have a new scheme I believe is still running where if you trade in certain titles within 2 weeks you can get £35 back. It may have changed to £30 and the £35 if youre buying a new title.

People, just shut the hell up about the game, alright? Every game has a bad first week or two with multiplayer, I mean look at Homefront, which had overpopulated servers. Halo Reach had the same problem (wow, a big supergiant like Bungie having online issues?) and BLops had problems with connectivity issues too. Boo-hoo. Crytek already said that they are planning to release a patch in the coming week, hell, one came out today to resolve some issues (March 31st, 2011)

Every game has rocky startings on the first week of release for the Multiplayer, just let it cool down for a few weeks or so, and the patches will have arrived to solve all issues.

And also Crytek has only built games for the PC, I'm sure they have things to iron out because they flipped over to the consoles. Not to mention, they have 3 systems to fix (every system has it's own issues).

I see what your saying. Agreed but Im gonna push though. I'm almost level 50 so I've seen the piles of bs. To all you dikes that specifically took time to come into this thread and harass this guy have fun **** your hands tonight, seriously find something better to do with your time. It's sad that after xbox accounts for 57% of crysis 2 sales, the 19% pc brought in comes first. Definitely not happy about it. Honestly I'd say sit it aside and come back in a couple weeks.

Hey man. I dont svck at the game my k/d is about 2.4 but I can clearly see all the problems. Im just not happy that after 2 multiplayer demos and probably in house testing I am still sitting here having to report bugs and issues like an unpaid games tester, I come home and sit down to play some games and relax and have fun, not to do more work. I dont like paying to test peoples games, they should be paying me for this rushed out mess to try and beat Brink (if they released after Brink, sales wouldnt even be half as much as they were the past week)

This game would never have sold this much if it hadnt been released in this dry run of new releases. Dead Space and Dragon Age are the only other 2 big launches so far this year. All 3 of these have been EA games and all 3 have been rushed out with this "ah well, we can fix it later" attitude. There are people without internet on their xboxes too so what are they meant to do? The singleplayer is totally broken with disappearing guns, noise grain and nobody can tell me that Crytek didnt know about the glaringly obvious AI issues. People without access to updates have to put up with that. Its not good enough for a AAA title to be released in this state.

Totally agree with you fella. It's like were used as test animals and doing all the testing for Crytek ourselves. Is it a crime to enjoy a game which we paid good money for? Or is it now normal to expect to have an un-joyable experience online?

EA make a hell of alot of money, just look at their fiscal figures for last year. If they put that money into testing real on-line variables and publishing a game that works first time then I can sit back, relax and enjoy what I am supposed to be doing (which is playing online) and not joining a forum to bich about how bad the game is. That is what Crysis 2 made me resort to doing and I have as much right as another person who paid good money for this game to express their opinion.

I honestly have not had any problems with the game in SP and MP. So the Crytek name for me has been impressive.
