[REQ?] Remnant Armor

Post » Sun Apr 04, 2010 12:04 pm

So, as somebody that went on total media blackout for New Vegas, my jaw friggin' DROPPED when I saw this beauty in game.

However, awesome as it was, I still felt it lacked a little... Oomph. My time with Fallout 2 had given me the strong impression that Enclave Power Armor was huge, tank-like.

The Remnant Armor is... Not.

So! If it's even remotely possible, could somebody look into messing around with the model or in any other way to lend to the tank-like aura.

Y'know well, the Brotherhood Armor wouldn't be hurting with a similar treatment.

Anyhow, just throwing it out there to any enterprising modfolk! Thank you for taking a read, let's hope for the future, eh?

Your jaw dropped? This engine has been used since Oblivion.

Anyway, it was slightly odd in Fallout 3 and New Vegas where the armour is so... tiny. A modder will make this, mark my words.

I think he meant a beauty of an armour, as in the return of enclave Advanced Power Armour from FO2.

It definitely needs to be more imposing.

I was happy when i heard thad FO2 enclave's PA design is back, but i agree it just looks "not bulky" enough like the http://images-mediawiki-sites.thefullwiki.org/03/2/8/2/31139434251369925.gif, heck mabye even one fan made for http://images.gamebase.com.tw/gb_img/5/000/400/400875.jpg looks better

My guess is that they were expecting it to make them look 10 feet tall and made of gold. :P

The FO3 would be better if it were not for those thunder thighs.

I'm also pretty sure I recall that mod has some clipping issues, which is probably exactly why the actual armor in the game is NOT bulkier, it's just as how the proportions of the T-51b had been changed somewhat from in the original games, since in Fallout 2, the characters were 2D sprites, clipping wasn't a problem, but with Fallout 3 and New Vegas in full 3D, if characters use the same animations and skeletons when wearing power armor , which is obviously the case, I'd imagine that some clipping issues would be unavoidable if they kept the proportions the same as in the original games, so when faced with the choice of less bulky power armor or clipping issues whenever someone wears it, they obviously chose the former, a choice I think I can agree with.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a mod like this anyway, given time. I mean, the game hasn't been out for very long yet, so of course we won't be seeing graphics replacements for every single thing in the game yet.

... Huh. I thought it was clear that the jaw dropping involved it being the Enclave Power Armor from Fallout 2. It was nice to see it return. (Logically!)

I imagined it was something like clipping that might prevent it. Oh well, tiny scale tweaking will have to suffice in the meantime!

And to clarify, it's not that I felt anything is particularly *bad* about the armor. I just expected it to be a tad bulkier.
