Remove "No" button

Post » Tue Nov 09, 2010 9:50 pm

Let's get straight to the point: is it possible to remove, or at least disable, the "No" button in TES CS warning dialog box?

It is nothing but true pain against everyone, pretty much hell in form of a small button. I've lost my works a few times now because of it, and I haven't saved them after quite a bit of work

Seriously, why does it have to quit the editor altogether? Nothing good will come out of it. If it's for the sake of "redo the whole damn thing" we can do it ourselves, not because of an accidental click a few centimetres away from the supposed answer. Also, it's not like mismatched endif code or wrong texture path will destroy the whole PC that TES CS have to quit immediately, the warning message prevented the damn "problem" to compile anyway

In the .ini file there is this line:

bBlockMessageBoxes=0

When set to 1, you will still get the first error message, but not the close message-- so, a quick test with a missing Endif gave the 'Mismatched If Block' warning, but not the "Do you want to continue doing stuff?" Box.

There's also one to disable warnings, but it does not seem to work for me, so...

Hmm, one major issue: it seems to prevent almost all warning messages :( If there's a missing Variable (say you mis-spelt it or something), it won't tell you until you try to move to another Script... You might need to remember to try that each time (if it hasn't saved properly, it will keep asking if you want to save).

On the whole, it might not be the best solution.

I should've known, since the variable name is so obvious: BlockMessageBoxes.

Sigh, a quick test with OBSE loaded CS with wrong if/endif suggests that the warning is not generated by CS, but by OBSE. Damned "No" option

If I might suggest this, in my hotkeys mod I have a hotkey (delete by default) which keeps pressing yes to the warnings windows - pressing delete on those warnings windows becomes a second nature very soon lol - HTH :shrug:

Can be done. I'll add that to CSE.

Done. The No button now behaves like the Yes [button].

shadeMe, did you just made that change into the latest OBSE loader? I'm so getting it! Thanks!

Not as such. I'm working on an OBSE plugin called CSE that modifies the CS.
