Plangkye's pluginless no glow is much better than the above-linked mod. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6984

How is it better? They both remove the glow. The only difference is not needing to check a box to make it happen.

1. It's pluginless. Anything pluginless is always convenient, especially for a quick and simple fix like this.
2. It was made with bumpmapping in mind, and therefore doesn't conflict with any textures using it.

There are a few good reasons to use Plangkye's mod over the other no glow mods. As you mentioned, you do not need to activate an esp file to use her mod which is a HUGE boon to players like me who use over 255 mods. Her mod is also fully compatible with detect spells and bump mapping which, as I understand, cannot be said of the other no glow mods. Plangkye's mod has no issues in foggy weather and under water while IIRC the other no glow mods cause items to give off a very ugly glow in these conditions. Simply put, for universal compatibility and overall effectiveness there is no choice but Plangkye's mod. :^)

MCP fixes the underwater issue, as well as the bump mapping I believe.

But alrighty then.

Mods that change effect colours will conflict with other mods that change other spell effect variables. If you load it before, the colours come back. If you load it after, the spell effect changes may be overwritten. So, go pluginless for less conflicts.
