Why do people think it breaks lore!? It makes no sense! The alliances are based off of ideology! Not strictly a race thing! How hard is this to get

It breaks lore by having a high elf around dark elf's, nords common if that was real the high elf would get killed on site

Remove a feature already advertised, bought, and paid for by the customer base. Why would anyone even consider this now? 6 months ago... Sure, but now? If you hadn't guessed already, I voted no.

Racism on one side and multicultural societies on the other were always part of elder scrolls.
I will play a alter dragon knight who was brought up by nord adoptive parents near the cyrodiil/skyrim border, so he fights for the ebonheart pact but wears imperial gear.

And i find it completely reasonable...

maybe it breaks the eso lore but it doesn't break the general elder scrolls lore

Its already part of the lore, and it makes sense that there will be small populations of each race all over, and in every faction.

Its that way in every SP ES game, both for NPCs and player choice in race.

Should the bulk of the population in a faction be be the "native" races? yes, more people would stay in their homelands then would wander off and live elsewhere.

But there would still be the small populations in every other faction.

As far as we have been told any race any faction is a pre-order only thing.

This should make it so that the proper limitations are kept in place.

Don't understand what race have to do with nation. A lot of Germans went to US a good amount of Jews also went to US , those were Germans by definition and fought their home countries. Same thing can be said of any other war in the world. I mean you are a Breton but you live on Skyrim, your friends, loved ones, business and home are all on those lands, so why the hell you would go back to High Rock or Daggerfall ? Just because you have a race? By that mindset thank god i'm not from a Ukrainian family lol.

not real big on lore more than i just dont see why you would have race based factions at all if people can just join as any race makes no sense i used to love that about WoW when your whole account was either horde or alliance

This have always been part of TES, we have always seen a mix of all the races everywhere, makes sense to keep the option that is given to the people that preorder to play with any race in any alliance.

I guess you saw all races in Skyrim and Morrowind when you played those.... that was limited to just one area........

I honestly coudn't care less about the lore. I pay no attention to it.

I like the adventure, the combat, the loot, and the social aspect.

I played Oblivion and Skyrim for hundreds of hours each and I felt the same way about them.

Just my opinion....I know many of you are really into the lore and that's cool. If ESO breaks it for you with this any race/alliance thing then I sincerely feel for you. I think you ought to enjoy the game how you want to, just as I should be able to.
