Removing hostility from (ex)friendlies (i.e. Diamond City)

Post » Fri Jan 29, 2016 4:56 pm

Well, hello all and this is Lucas, accordling of Vault 111.

I found myself in a bit of trouble just today when I failed to pickpocket a Diamond City guard. Turns out, that results in the entire police force putting a high value on my head, and nothing seems to convince them to holster their weapons, take back what I stole, etc.

When this happens, instead of having to load back to a saved spot that may be far gone - is there anyway to deter these maniacs from shooting me on sight?

I am familiar with Fallout 3, and even in this, 4, it's recommended to holster one's weapon and hope for the best. I am sad to say, no such luck!

So, any suggestions to yield these fellas, or must I just choose my pickpocket technique much more wisely?

(As an aside, any tips for a novice thief just now learning the ropes of stealing, such as myself, would be HUGELY appreciated!)

Thank you, kindly. And enjoy Fallout 4!

Wait 72 hours then most things will be forgiven.

(Except things like killing important faction person)

The game saves every ten minutes by default!

So... how fargone could your last savegame be?

And do those brave law enforcement officers, putting their lives on the line to serve and protect, really deserve to be pick-pocketed?

No way around it: the penalty for what you have foolishly attempted is sudden and severe frontier justice, heheh...

Institute people seems to be bit more forgiving to shooting and pickpocketing....

Maybe because they know you are the boss of father... and father endorses you.

Good. You thieves should be strung up by your unmentionables and thoroughly flogged.

Then you should be locked up for a good time again.

oh... you get it.

BTW: Why were you pick-pocketing a guard? They don't have anything of any use anyway. Just practicing?
