Removing Iron Sights mechanic FOR GOOD!

Post » Mon Jan 25, 2016 8:52 pm

How do I remove the iron sights mechanic? It's terrible, and doesn't mesh with a proper 3D Fallout title. Iron sights are great for beginners or console players who may not have played FPS's much, but for someone who's played more they seem amateurish and console kiddie-like.

What the hell are you talking about?

I assume you mean, the cross-hair not iron sights. Stop being immature and just disable cross-hairs in the options, if you don't want to use them.

LOL you kinda missed the point. That's okay though. Iron Sights are when you sight down the gun. It blocks the view, and the crosshairs vanish. This is a brand new mechanic to the Fallout franchise, and is mostly used in console games by youngsters who may not have experience with PC FPS's which use a mouse and keyboard, like us old timers are use to.

The problem in that there's no way to disable it aside from mods. Serious players who have spent a little more time playing prefer never to use iron sights.

Wow. I stand corrected: you are a moron.

How are iron sights, 'mostly used in console games by youngsters...'. Iron sights are used in Military Simulation type games like ARMA.

Without iron sights or a scope, you would have to hip fire (or solely rely on VATS) and that's unrealistic.

ARMA was released in 2006, so it's for younger gamers who would be more use to iron sights, auto aiming, and the like. Not keyboard/mouse like Counter-Strike for us old timers.

Using iron sights is the exact opposite of auto aiming. There is no logic to your argument.

The original Operation Flashpoint (2001) is another military simulation type game that uses iron sights.

That's cute-- it autoaims, even if you've never realized it! That's okay though-- I can understand your mistake because a lot of people don't realize it's autoaiming until it's explained to them.

It's one step away from cheating as far as I'm concerned. Older gamers tend to favour more competitive, fair games that rely on reflexes, not autoaiming iron sights.

Woah woah woah... now we are talking about aim assist, which isn't directly related to iron sights. You really need to be more clear in your arguments, because games can have iron sights without aim assist. Completely removing iron sights won't fix that problem.

Yeah, if I removed all the flames it leaves only the opening post and even the opening post insults new players by calling them kiddies. Hardly very welcoming.
