Removing Mods?

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2016 7:47 am

I recently started a new character, i play on xbox one, i still left mods running from my level 50 mage, like bosses of skyrim, beasts of skyrim, elemental destruction magic and black mage armor, my new character is a orc warrior, so i dont need elemental destruction magic, mage armor. If i take theses out or disable them will they mess up my new character? Also i,m playing on master difficulty, was about to make my way up to the greybeards, i kept running into this boss Kingslayer, this dude does not die, even on novice i could not kill him, every time i got him down to no health, he would regenerate.

People will say that removing it will cause issues later, which is true, but a console player doesn't really have much choice, due to limited space. :/

By that I mean, you will feel pressured to do so when you reach the limit. If there were much freedom with that, I would say not to remove it.

But.. I think you can disable it which is not the same as uninstalling(I really don't know how it works for consoles so correct me if I'm wrong) so no it would not affect your new character. As long as that new save has not "seen" the mod in question.

If you take out Mage Armour i think it would be okay. Elemental Destruction magic should be fine to remove as long as you haven't placed any perks in them. However they aren't hurting you to use, so I don't really see the point of removing them. Does it matter if the perk tree has more destruction perks in it? I wouldn't really risk removing them as there are no positives to removing them but potentially it could screw up your save.

As for Kingslayer, Jaime Lannister is a tough mofo, especially if you climb a tower and look through the window and watch him being deviant. You don't want to mess with the Kingslayer.

The problem comes from disabling mods and continuing to play with the same character after you get the warning message about missing content. If you want to play a different character with a different set of mods that's fine. Just make sure you only have the ones you want to use active when you start playing the new character.

Since you've already started the character you should really leave those mods in place until you start the next character.
