Removing Spells From Your Spellbook

I hope they allow the option to delete spells as in Oblivion you could have a lot of spells you no longer used.

I think that's a really good idea but maybe instead of your spells getting useless they just get stronger when you do so then you don't stop using them.

Given the descriptions we've gotten of the magic so far, it doesn't seem like it will be needed. There are 85 (hopefully) unique effects whose effectiveness is tied to the skills that govern them, kinda like how weapon damage scales with the associated skill. With spell combinations now handled directly in combat it's not likely you'll have enough spells that you'd want to start removing some.

Yeah especially for non-magic users. I think it would be nice to see NO spells AT ALL in my badass dual-wielding nord's inventory. Except for race bonuses of course.

Even if all spells level with you wich I really hope they do not, its still possible to have spells on your list that after some time you find you never use.

Yes please, I would like to be able to delete spells.

yeah your right Merari so you should be able to delete your spells but I think they should get stronger with you so you don't have to keep getting new ones.

I think that since there's not really spell making in the game, you wont end up with a bunch of less useful spells in your spellbook, anyway.

Still no reason to NOT let us delete them unless they think we're too stupid to know not to delete the spells we find useful.

85

SPELLS

not effects K

85 spells 5 schools 17 spells per school and since Spell creation was an issue its definently not effects or else it would not have been in initial issue. and since spells like drain/damage (Certain attributes) are gone its definently not near the 80-90 effects that are in Oblivion.

Hell no.

What's the point in buying new ones then?

I think the new system will only get the bases of the spells and you skill determines how you use them

This.

That would take away the joy and sense of achievement you get once you've reached the skill req. for a spell you have been dying to learn.

How the hell can you "buy" a spell anyway? You can learn a spell, but how can you buy it? Why doesn't my character buy a parchment at the least and then actually read and learn a spell from that?

It would be even better if the "seller" gave me a live demonstration and taught me how to use it first. Anyway I would like to delete my old lesser spells from my memory, yes.

You could just imagine that the seller is training you the spell without seeing all of the nifty animations. Waste of Dev. time when your brain is just as effective.

Yes, just like in Morrowind. Ah... reminds me of the good ol' days when you could somehow "dispose of corpse"
