Hello Everyone,

I tried installing Morrowind on my new computer to play this amazing game again.

Sadly i am running into some problems and i have no idea how to fix it.

The error shows up when i either start the game from the .exe or when i press play from the Launcher.

Running win7 64bit

AMD Radeon HD 7900 series

From what i found on the we there are many problems which can create an error like this and i have tried alot of 'solutions'

What i tried:

completely turn off my second screen\

Run in windowed

Change resolution settings

Run in compatability mode (XP SP3)

disable visual themes

Disable desktop composition

Tried both steam install and disk install separately.

I have no idea what to try anymore and i am really looking for help. I want to play the game again,

Try reinstalling your graphics device driver (e.g. AMD Catalyst)

Make sure you're running Morrowind in a resolution it supports.

I tried reinstalling my graphics drivers but without succes sadly.

As for the resolution it supports. How can i find out which resolutions it supports? I tried 600x800.

You mean 800x600? But anyway at least 640x480 in 32-bit mode. There is no reason why you wouldn't be operating in 32-bit color mode, but you can double check.

What is the native resolution of your monitor? Maybe your monitor can run the application correctly on a 4:3 resolution.

Try running at 800x600 in windowed mode.

i tried 800x600 indeed. Sorry it was late so i mixed them around haha.

I will check if i can run at 640x480 when i am back home again. Computer is in 32-bit color mode.

The native resolution of my screen is 1920x1080

So far most of my tries have been windowed mode since that seems to be better but i will try all options i get in both windowed as normal.

edit:

The resolution might be just bugged. I would try reverting back to your native resolution, although to get widescreen resolution in Morrowind you'll need to modify the registry or use MGE (or similar utility).
