I have been using the construction set for a few years and recently downloaded a new copy onto my laptop and when I run it the render window does not show up. I have even went to view and clicked on it but nothing happens. I was wondering if any one new haw to fix this problem. I have also uninstalled it and re-installed about three times and still not working.

Are you using a smaller resolution than you used to ? the window may be being drawn off of the visible screen -- try deleting your Constructionset.ini and let the CS create a new on with default values and it should come back ! (the ConstructionSet.ini is located in your My documents\My Games\Oblivion\ folder and if you'd like instesd of deleting it and returning everything to default just open it in a text editor (ie. Notepad) and look for these lines :



they are the ones you'll need to adjust to get it back and represent the number of pixels in and down from the left top of the screen and the width and height the window is drawn also in pixels -- so make sure they are on your visible desktop space and save the changes !

Thank you JDFan I deleted the file and opened constructions set and it worked. I never made any changes to anything before that. from the time I installed it on my laptop it was not working. Don not know why, but it works now thank you again.

It saves the position of the windows from the last time it was closed -- so sometimes if you change screen resolutions the saved setting location will no longer be visible or if you had somehow dragged it off screen when moving it out of the way of another window and then shut down with it off screen that location would be saved - so it does happen at times !
