Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:14 pm

I meant to make it go to the newest conversation and focus on that one. Or is that already done? (have to check)

I don't mean to come across as pestering you, btw.

because I was trying to create a system where dialog options by the player could be greater than just a few choice words.

Is that actually possible?

Yes, yes it is. No one uses it, but the ability is there within the mod.

Wow. I wonder why no one else is ecstatic about that...

I am having trouble reading the fast responses from NPC, specially when there are several lines. I use elys 8 second obse plugin but sometimes 8 seconds i too fast, and often its too slow. If I could read the text in a window, even scroll back in the dialog, as long as the dialog is going on, that would be very nice. I tried your mod, and it seems to work like that, but frankly it is so ugly white when every other menu is nice dark-red that I can not stand using your mod more than for testing purpose. I use DarkUid Darn, with several add-ons that changes the UI, for example Oblivion XP, MiniMap, Quest Log Manager, Display Stats, Alchemy Advanced and Map Marker Overhaul. They all replace or insert elements and/or xml files, making everything look nice and uniform dark-red. I so wished your mod could do the same. I spent a couple of hours compareing your dialog with the one from DarkUI darn but I still don't even beging to understand how to change color on yours, hehe. I would suggest asking the authors of the other mods I mentioned if they had advice on this issue.

Here are two more recent published mods whose authors might be be able to help:

Hi Reneer! First off, thank you!! The nifty dialog has been fun and you've made lots of other goodies that I ought thank you for too (the guard overhaul in particular has been a blast).

I just wanted to add one more voice noting that the "spreadness" of the dialog interface seems visually awkward (though I noted your comments about allowing for longer dialog options which does sound pretty nifty). However, I dig the expanded dialog options.

Is there a way to install the dialog mod without the interface adjustments? I'm going to try simply not using the menu xml file (won't know if I don't try) but figured I'd drop you a note while I tried troubleshooting on my own.

Regardless of whether real life/time/interest/etc. permits a reply, thanks again for all you work! =)

Wishing you a merry Wednesday,
meyebr01

EDIT: Well, at least on my first pass, not using the xml file works fine! I haven't tossed in any UI tweaks yet, but for now I've got all the Reneer dialog goodness sans interface tweaks. =)

Great to hear that you've had success with this - I've been wanting to port / test out this mod with the new MenuQue system, but I just have so little time for modding nowadays... :(

Although the modding community will surely miss your updates, it's sounds like real life is calling. Hi fives to you for answering that call. Not always easy. =)

Dialog isn't a priority for most mods, just a small part of a much larger (and more complex) package.

That noted, I've been very interested in this mod for some time, since I'm pushing along slowly on creating a merchant/companion with tons of dialog and an elaborate tree.
