Rent

Post » Mon Jan 12, 2015 11:54 am

Places vary over the whole world and I was wondering what the monthly rent is for people who live in different places and if they get a lot of amenities for what they pay. I know that places like Los Angeles, California are crazy expensive while regions like the Midwest of the U.S. cost comparatively little. This can be apartment rent, mortgage, or whatever.

I pay $600 for my little one bedroom apartment in the bottom of a heritage house. (Converted to 3 apartments in the 50's.)

I have no control over the heat, but don't pay for it either. (The neighbour upstairs has control of the thermostat.)

Everything else is in my name. (Electric/phone/etc.)

I live in a very expensive city, and lucked out when I found this place. (I don't like apartment buildings.)

My GF and I are paying 1150$ for a house we rent. Three bed rooms. We are lucky. Normally rare and more expansive where we live (for house).

$1200 a month for 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment with pretty much unlimited heat, water, electricity included (energy in Canada is extremely cheap). The neighbourhood is pretty bad though.

I used to pay £800 per month for a 2-bedroom house in southern England. It was about 3 miles from the city centre, and didn't include bills (gas/electricity/taxes) but was fully furnished and the landlord maintained the property. I think to buy it would set you back about £200,000, but prices are pretty volatile - even a million won't get you much in the city centre, though out in the sticks you can get quite a lot for £150k.

There's lots of places you can live without an HOA fee. I own a house in a neighborhood and I don't pay one. The biggest factor in whether you have to pay an HOA fee is the existence of an HOA.

Depends, is this tent among other tents that follow a similar structure, and in order to live there you have to sign a contract requiring you to adhere to bylaws and the Conditions, Covenants and Restrictions form?

If so, yes, you'll probably have to play HOA dues :P

Rent varies wildly in an area depending on amenities and square footage. I know someone who has a small 500ft^2 bachelor studio with no stove or oven for $675/mo and another in a two bedroom one bath fully furnished kitchen near the beach that is 950ft^2 that is $1700/mo

Geez you people live in expensive places. I have a ~35m2 apartment (basically one room, a hole for kitchen and bathroom), the rent is 361 €/month. And government pays 282€ of it :hehe:

Yeah, I was thinking that. Some of you people could afford to rent multiple apartments where I live. Of course, you'd probably be paid less as well if you had to work in local industries...
