Everyone keeps pvssyring about how they don't show item condition in the E3 gameplay video. Well maybe they replace the Repair skill with Engineering. This would effectively combine Science and Repair into one skill, which frankly should have been done in the first place, given the nature of the Science skill and it's practical usage in-game (Fo3/NV).
Anything that would have been a Science check regarding non-computer sciences could be governed under the Intelligence SPECIAL instead. Engineering could determine what you can and can't make, as well as hacking terminals and the ability to restore pre-war tech, such as vehicles, robots, computers and Power Armor. It could also come into play when building your settlement. (Ever heard the term "structural engineer"?)
Just a thought.
