Repairing and combining Weapons

Post » Tue Dec 08, 2015 5:11 am

In Fallout 3 and new Vegas i put a lot of points in repairing-skill, so i can repair my armor and weapons "over the top" and make the best Armor and Weapon even better...

But i did not only miss the Feature to combine Weapons, to have a better Weapon and reduce waight at once...I don′t find the Repair-Status of the Weapons at all.

Is it possible, that this Feature was completly Deleted in this Game?!?

And now we wait for the 6 pages about how dumbed down the game has become because of it's removal.

Lot's of new accounts, with one post, creating threads on no hardcoe and no repair. Glad I'll be too busy enjoying the game to worry :goodjob: I'm actually kind of surprised people felt that strongly for the degredation and repair. It was in no way realistic and only felt like a chore to me. I'm glad I can have more carry weight for scrap to mod different weapons now instead of carry around 2 riot shotguns because they'd break every 50 rounds

It was kinda realistic but also a chore since the degradation was WAY too rapid, it was just badly tuned. But I'm glad it's gone, there's plenty enough micromanagement to replace it. What with the dozen new armor slots and mods and all

Sadly repair and degredation are out. I made a thread about this long ago and many were skeptical it was gone. Based on the E3 footage, it was obviously BGS removed it. Considering it was gone in Skyrim, it's no surprise Fallout 4 followed suit. Sure crafting is overhauled and we can customize any weapons we want, but there's no longer a sense of risk or strategy in how you use your weapons. It's just a run and gun game.

Eh. Weapons don't break down that quickly and to think we're just disassembling other weapons in the middle of nowhere and "fixing" our guns is pretty out there. If it were restricted to work benches and the degredation was slowed I wouldn't mind it. It shouldn't be a primary focus is what I'm saying.

It was a silly mechanic the way it was implemented. If they just moved that mechanic over to 4 I'd have been annoyed. If they improved on it like I said above it wouldn't be terrible but as it stood the vanilla one svcked. I'm obviously not the only one sharing that sentiment.

The shooting mechanics in Fallout 4 are like a real FPS. Do you complain that your weapon never breaks down in Doom, Borderlands, Destiny, or Wolfenstein? Probably not.

While I myself enjoyed the weapon/armor repair system in F3 and NV, and I am upset that it's not in F4, ultimately the issue is moot.

Mods, mods, mods.

If developers can build it, we can mod it.

to me, a good system is like Far Cry 2. If you kill a enemy, sure, you can pick his weapon. But the weapon is in really poor condition. So, they have problems like jamming and misfire, I belive the damage is reduce too and sometimes, it will explode on your face and the weapon is gone forever. For weapons in good condition, only buying and paying dearly for them.

Repair weapons in F3 is really BORING (NV too, but at least we have repair kits, jury rigging and NPC′s that repair at 100%) and I glad that BGS remove this. But if they had implemented a unique system FC2 like, I would find it great.
