Repairing Unique Gear

Post » Fri Jan 02, 2015 9:44 am

This may just be me, but does anyone else find it frustrating how hard it is to keep unique weapons and armor in good condition? Now when I say unique, I'm not talking about unique weapons that are a superior version of another weapon. I'm talking about things like the T-51B and the Gauss Rifle. Get the idea?

It really annoys me that I have to go to NPCs to repair this stuff, very few of whom are capable of repairing the gun to a level that can compete with even standard weaponry at higher conditions. Really, what is the point of having unique gear if it performs just as well as standard gear and is expensive to maintain?

Obviously this gear is superior to common items in the wasteland when said gear is at high condition, but it doesn't stay in fine condition for a long time (save the glitched Winterized T51B). This just makes me hesitant to use it!

So... is there a point for this thread? Well, it's not just a rant. How do you guys maintain your unique gear? Any tips/tricks?

It does not bother me since I rarely use any of them. I prefer using the common weapons and armor. I just keep a Sniper for long range and I am usually fine with having a vendor repair it.

Getting enough Caps is not a problem in this game and there are merchants who can repair items to a high degree, so no, I don't consider it an issue. If it really bothers you, then don't use them. There's plenty of options available.
