Replenish Grenades

Post » Sat Jul 03, 2010 12:40 am

I'm sure theres no confirmation on whether or not grenades can be replenished but I think it would be a cool idea. Especially if the soldiers ability to give out ammo was how they went about it.

Yeah I agree. Maybe as Soldiers gain xp or complete objectives, they can replenish grenades. Who knows...

I think you automatically gain extra grenades after a while. It's confirmef that they have a cooldown to prevent nade spam. I thought soldiers could specialize in nades and carry more than 1 at once. We don't know exactly how this is going to work out.

Every player has infinite grenades. Grenades are tied to a cooldown, not a set number.

Link confirmation?

"Seeing as we were the soldier class, Wedgwood recommended we take the flashbangs along, which incidentally reminds me that Splash Damage has taken an interesting stance on grenades in Brink, choosing to give players an unlimited amount, but with there being about a 20-30 second cooldown between each being able to throw each one... so no grenade spamming!"

I was going to say he was right but there seems little need now.

I would expect soldiers to just have skill to reduce the cooldown, if anything at all. Its much simpler.

Soldiers are the only class which may use different grenades (such as the aforementioned flashbangs or also molotovs), aren't they?

Operatives have sticky nades.

@Shadow: I thought they had reduced cooldown or atleast with an ability.

If you choose to use sticky nades, they will replace your normal nades, At least according to the Holy Book of H0RSE (Blessed be his holy hooves)

I remember reading somewhere that soldiers are the only class with grenades. At the E3 demo, grenades where only used when the person playing swapped to soldier.

**EDIT**
I must have forgotten that part from the compendium, I may be wrong in that case.

Soldiers can specialize in grenades, meaning they will probably get more grenades or grenade related skills than any other class.

That is why I added in the EDIT. Seems facts and rumors have changed and confused me.

I am looking forward to making a Heavy, grenade spec'd soldier. It seems like it would be a lot of fun.

I honestly don't think explosives have any place in any FPS. But all FPS's have explosives. I trust they'll balance them well, though.

What's the best device to remove some annoying camper (in most shooters)? - A well placed grenade.

However, as they don't insta-kill in BRINK, it will be a little tougher.

Who said grenades won't insta-kill in Brink? If a grenade lands on you, I expect you to die.

In most of the games i played on PC, you had to switch to the grenade to use it, so i never did. Isn't worth the risk of putting away my gun. I actually use them if you can just press a button to throw one, but I get along just fine with no nades at all.

lol, it's funny you say that, because there was a LONG discussion on the SD boards, about how they wish there was an option to use nades the old way, like in W:ET.
