You won't really know until your game freezes consistently at certain places.

I think that comment was to answer my question of ...
How do I find out if I have a corrupted save?

This makes less sense to me than

If a save is even the slightest bit corrupt by one digit it wont even be readable. Just shows Corrupt Save on the PS3.

How does corruption happen?
How to prevent corruption?
Why would a corruption happen at the same amount of time from different saves? For example, I have a save (A) that within 30 minutes it will freeze. My location means nothing, it will freeze during "fast travel" or walking. I have saves (B and C) based upon that save (A) at a later time and location in it meets the "withing 30 minutes" standard. I have played the previous save (save before A) and it SEEMS the amount of time until the freeze is in accordance to the freezes in A, B and C.

Thank you.

Different variables getting saved at different places. For instance, what enemies are in that area? What items? Have new ones respawned? Or there even supposed to be enemies in that area? NPCs etc are notorious for walking around the place. Perhaps they're not supposed to.

Sometimes you can play through the game and not get any freezing, or very little. Sometimes you'll get a lot. It really depends how you play, which makes it seem like everything is luck.

Even if you can load the save, there may be things in the save that the game engine cannot work out, thus creating the freezes. You can try to work around it with lots of saves, and hope that you have a non-corrupted save to fall back on, but there's no way to prevent it. Only gamesas can resolve this issue.

I get some minor freezes in VATS (but then the game recovers after a minute), and I've had one freeze (this playthrough) that made me restart the PS3.

I currently have 80 hours of gameplay on this game session. It is my second game session. Both times I've played the game it ran very smooth up until level 14. I believe this is when more difficult enemies begin spawning (giant radscorps and yau guai) and the Enclave start popping up throughout the wasteland.

Has anybody tried playing for 100+ hours without leveling past level 10 (just to be safe)? I know it would be difficult since it is very easy to level up if you are doing quests and killing enemies.

Every time I fire Sergeant RL-3, he turns hostile. I've tried making him wait 7-8 days until he goes back to Canterbury Commons but he still tries to kill me or the merchants there. I've gone back to really old saves and I've gone up to Raven Rock where he is forcefully fired to see if it would fix it but it doesn't. Why does this happen? It's one of the weirder glitches that I've had.

random freezes doing anything
shooting,
when things blow up
after fast traveling
after killing something
after killing someting with VATS
after entering VATS
after switching weapons while they are showing

it does seem to be more frequent once i reach level 20

the pip boy showing up misaligned on the screen (for example the camera was looking at pip boy but it was off the top half of the screen)
so you could see 50% of the pip boy on the screen and %50 of the floor / wall whatever you were arround

There's a lot to go through here, but just in case it wasn't said already, what about lack of robots in the Big Town junkyard. The option is there to help defend Big Town by fixing up the robots, but there are no robots to fix.

It's so funny that the last patch is from January 2009 when there are tons of bugs that destroys the experience on the ps3.
Why is the support so bad ?, the new patch is only for the DLC to work good..

Vanilla Fallout 3 for the PS3 needs more support from Bethesda!

had problem with helping gouls get into tenpenny. Successfully got them into the tower, but could not get complete mission text from specific goul(the leader dude in the tunnels) He just stands on the balcony but the quest says talk to him.

Duno if anyone else encountered this, i tried to load it again and same thing so just ended up killing the gouls instead.

No, it's still there. I've gone as far as an in-game week and nothing has changed, the one goo pile I just created is still there.

There's only one bug fix. I don't think it's going to fix everything, and it's only been out less than a day. Let's leave it open for those that want to report issues until 200 posts, and then we can start a new one.

Can't believe that there is so much about freezing on the internet, everywhere and Bethesda isn't looking into it seriously

I've tried various troubleshooting steps but I still get stuck when I'm going to take the fuses from my dad. I'm unable to come to the top level. Game freezes while loading when I try exiting the door

Any bright ideas anyone?

The patches cover up most, if not almost all of the major bugs, but Bethesda does make very large scale games and for that reason games of this magnitude tend to be very glitch/bug prone. Not all of the glitches are bad though. The best one that comes to mind is one from Operation Anchorage called the Gary 23 Glitch. It will let you keep any of the items you went through the simulation with in the real world, which otherwise would have been taken from you. Feel free to check up on it if you like. The game is well worth every dollar you'll pay for it though. I bought it the night it came out here in Western Pennsylvania and I have been playing it ever since more than likely with anywhere from 6 to 8 different characters I have created. It really is a great game and it's hard to find a game that you will invest this much time into.

Also, to anyone interested, from what I can tell the Energy Weapons glitch was eliminated. I used Willy outside of Tenpenny Tower earlier today as my guinea pig and turned him into a goo pile. I then went into Tenpenny Tower and waited 7 days before coming back outside to see it was still there. My roommate then suggested doing it again but instead of going into the Tower, I should go across the Capital Wasteland and then come back after a few days of passed. I did as he said, waited 3 days, and voila; the Goo Pile was gone. It's only 1 test, but it's the only Goo Pile I've managed to get rid of since the game's release and the only thing that has changed is the Patch that was released on Wednesday, so I'm assuming they fixed it.

My best advice would be to wait at least a week after GOTY comes out, and check the forums for what sorts of bug reports pop up. The new patch came out very recently, so it's still too early to tell what's been fixed or not.

Played last night, downloaded the patch and quit and after 50 minutes played another game which played perfectly, and I noticed it was a little more stable but there still a big amount of framerate issues, please Bethesda if you fix just one thing please let it be the framerate, then I can actually enjoy the game again.

Yah I'm finding it more stable too. As for the frame rate, I find that happens when cars explode or you go into a new area but it is still loading. Its fine for sneak characters because you always walk slow and that lets the area load before you do any action, but for run and gun characters it svcks though. I think the optimized memory for multiple masters is the fix for the memory leakage. I just hope Bethesda still does updates/patches even though all the DLC is now coming out, it would be nice if they support this for a couple more years until Fallout 4.

I'm not really sure if the Jefferson Memorial bug has been resolved for others after the patch. For me, No. ITs not fixed yet!.

My issue is, I get into the basemant and turn on the pump switch. When I try coming back to get the fuse from the scientist (dad) I'm unable to get out of the basemant door. I get the clock and it freezes on the black screen.

The weird part is, when I revert to another saved game and come back to jefferson memorial and try entering it, it freezes.

Rest all quests work absolutely fine.

Any fixes for this? or any update on whether Bethesda plans to fix this before coming up with more add-ons? :banghead:

I've had the game since xmas and have never experienced any problems until last monday, i'm at level 14 and if i try to head in the direction of the GNR building (by going west of the raider camp above friendship heights metro) the game freezes and i have to reboot.. strange thing is i had been through the affected area once already with no problems (the area in question is where there is a super mutant camp & entrance to a shelter full of plungers under a bridge near the camp). update 1.61 hasn't resolved the issue

Copied from the "Issues with Broken Steel?" thread -

Whoa Bethesda I've seriously had enough, before actually releasing a dlc let alone a full game please test how the framerate holds up, I have had constant framerate issues when playing Broken Steel and the full game! I'm bot considering selling my copy and never buying another Bethesda game unless -

a ) You admit there is a problem with the PS3 version.

b ) Patch the PS3 version of the game and fix the framerate once and for all.

If none of these are met then sadly I will never, EVER buy a game made by Bethesda (but I will get Fallout:New Vegas since it's made by a developer who actually tests their games and who seems to program well, just dont expect me to welcome it with open arms when I see the logo of a publisher who fails epicly at making a GAME, not a slide-show!!!
