My freezes occur randomly. Either when I walk through certain gates/doors or if I try to fast travel or sleep. It really brings my piss to a boil because this game is so much damn fun, but it's completely riddled with software problems POST PATCH! If I had to wait for this game because of software fix delays I wouldn't care, but this game was just distributed without eliminating a MAJOR issue.

AAAAHHHH!!! I played this game perfectly fine, not 1 single bug, untill I installed the patch........n that was it, couldn't play it anymore. My save files would load, but the option to save is unavailable (like its transperant on the menu) cant save it at all with or without the auto save on, even when i fast travel, it says its saving but nope its a lie

if some1 somehow knows how to fix this, please please tell me thanks

In some parts of the game there would be floating trees missing textures on rocks and buildings and you could see through the game and such...

another thing is that sometimes in rivet city, megaton, big town, little lamplight and those other places i do nothing nothing at all and all of a sudden the people would attack me for no reason at all i mean i do nothing and they become hostile towards me and i try leaving and waiting few days but nothing and i would have to load an old save in order for it to go back to normal.....

and pretty much sometimes when playing it would sort of like freeze or lag a bit every 10 seconds.....

and those other problems that everyone posted.....

Last night I decided to play for a bit before I fell asleep. Went to Rivet City so I could finish off The Replicated Man and as soon as I entered the city (ps3 hadn't been on but 3 minutes) the game froze completely and I had to power down and bring it back. Tried it again but saved before I entered the door and had no problems. It actually ran quite well the rest of the time I played. I have been seeing more crashes though the larger my save file gets. The last savegame I had I was lvl 19 with most side quests completed, around 100 locations discovered and on my way to Little Lamplight. I would see roughly 1 crash per hour.

Freezes, sometimes it gets stuck for like 2 or 3 seconds and then returns, while other times it gets stuck for good. When you travel to a new location, or indoor for example, or fast travel; the world objects like bottles, dead bodies seams to fall of from the air and hit the ground, sometimes it is clearly visible when I see a Super Mutant body falling off from the air and hit the ground as soon as I enter an indoor level. Also while walking, its weird that the surrounding objects like the bottles shake, believe me i dont think my character is a heavy weight champ or something. I once found graphical glitches (black polygons on screen) in a building the main DC area.. not sure whether its still there, I'll keep posted.

I've had the game freeze in VATS and at Tenpenny Tower. Never had trouble in Rivet City or Megaton.

okay well it seems the more i level up the more problems i have in the game, there are never glitches like freezing, the game crashing (causing the ps3 to beep at me and restart itself) but in later levels there seems to be more and more i cannot play the game

the issues i have had are well pretty common

i doubt Bethesda will fix this game as they have to spend money to do so, and will make no additional profit doing so

I cannot complete 'Picking Up The Trail' because Scribe Rothchild has a glitch. I ask him about Vault 87 and he says 'Follow me and I'll tell you what I know about Vault 87', but then he just stands there instead of going to the orange map and giving me it's location or telling me about the entrance in Little Lamplight.

I have tried punching him, shooting him, waiting (for over a day in game time...), copying then deleting all game info and reinstalling it. Nothing works. I am now unable to complete this game without starting again, and considering I didn't tackle the main quests until I had played for around 80 hours, the thought of starting again is not appealing.

Needless to say, I'm a little annoyed.

I am also experiencing other minor glitches too. The game freezes a lot for no reason, cans and other small objects float (especially around water and caves/tunnels), Dogmeat traps me in doorways and small spaces coz he won't bloody move etc. Nothing as as big as the Rothchild issues.

If anyone working on a new patch is reading this, please fix my Rothchild issue!

I don't think bethesda really cares. How long has this thread been going. How many of these issues have they tried to fix?

Bump.

Vault 101 during "The GOAT Whisperer" guest. The Teacher just stands there and doesnt say a word. Need to reload save to fix this.

Also I'm not sure if this is a glitch/bug, but sometimes enemies don't respawn, like the Super Mutants at the Mall. Also I have multiple green sludges everywhere, and when I try to view them, it doesn't let me. Possibly because they're the same person respawned, and I looted them before?

Everything from "The mission where you escort your father back to rivet city" (I'm sorry I can't recall the exact name) runs poorly, and freezes regularly. Everything before that, I had no freezes and very few frame rate drops.

With most people claiming their PS3's have died or stopped reading discs, I've found, it's usually the fact that they've used the switch on the back to power the system down. I never use that switch.
A software shutdown is always preferrable. Especially regarding the laser. If you cut the power while it's busy moving/reading, I'd assume it could seriously damage the system.

I've had plenty of freezes with Fallout on my PS3, but aside from some hefty cursing on my side for the wasted hours, it's always turned out fine (crosses fingers, knocks on wood)

Off topic: I once had a freeze and I tried to do the proper shutdown, got the beep but the system would not power down. All the lights that flash when you power down were flashing but nothing was happening. I left it for awhile but had to resort to the main power switch in the back. Even more off topic: do you throw that switch after a power down or leave the system in stand by?

I current software problems that i have encountered are that when you first install the patch the game freezes right when it starts up or the frame rate of the game slows down
second issue was entering ten penny tower the screen would go black but everything in the back ground would still be going
third issue was when talking to the person at the crater supply store, you sell at least 6 items to her the game would completely freeze but the music was still going on in the back ground
fourth issue was extreme lag during explosions and more than one enemy fights and random freezes that take 4 seconds
final issues are lags during action sences and all sound cuts out like guns or poeple talking
i noticed a lot of glitchs that occur in fallout 3 have happen on oblivion as well i hopeing that you will replie that this issues will be fixed and that the ps3 verson of fallout 3 will be just as stable as its xbox 360 contur part
i am wondering if these issues will be increased if this all put on the goty edition, or more issues willl be created, example would be in oblivion the blood grass glitch

Don't know if this has been said or not, but when escort Doctor Li through the tunnels to the Citadel (after Enclave's first attack) she opens the gate with the intercom. Though when I got into the Citadel I received some Power Armor training and what not, but I noticed something weird Doctor Li wasn't with me and I was supposed to escort her here. Now whenever I get around 5 ft of the entrance, I freeze in place and can only move my camera while Doctor Li walks in and then walks away. I've tried deleting the game data and that didn't work, I backed tracked as far as I could through the tunnels, and I even started killing a few Brotherhood which none of them worked. This overall prevents me from finishing the main quest itself. I am real disappointed that this problem has been occurring for months and nothing has been done by Bethesda to fix this problem, if this isn't fixed then I think buying Fat Princess was a better investment then this game.

I've been having some weird issues lately:

Huge areas will have a "black wall" in between them (different zones?). Once I get close to the wall it vanishes, but if I get farther away or if I look at the spot where the wall was from just the right angle, I can't see through it (black wall returns).

Multiple creatures getting stuck and/or teleporting around. I can't count the number of times there's been an ant or radscorpion stuck "in the ground/rock" recently either.

And for some reason everytime I go to Arefu I either hear a car crashing, or exploding.

I'll pretty echo what everone else had, I only read the first two pages, so if there's an answer among the other pages please inform me.

My major problem is game freeze. The game goes through an infinite loop for some reason. For me, it mostly happens around The Citadel. It did happen in other places, but mostly The Citadel.
1) When I let go of Charon to put up Cross, I was going to follow Charon to Underworld. The game froze when he reached the outside guards. Reloaded. I decided to watch him leave, it froze at the guards again. Reloaded. I decide to leave out before him, it froze at the same spot.
2) When Elder Lyons walk into the room labeled "barracks", it freezes. At first, I was not at the barracks, I was still in A Ring and it froze. Reloaded. I ran to the B Ring and seen him and he went to the barracks, it froze. Reloaded, I called myself preventing him from going in. When he changed his course, it immediately froze. So maybe it is not necessaily just him going INTO the barracks, but some kind of decision making (A.I.) of the NPCs are going into an infinite loop.

Every freeze I had, dealt with a certain area, so far, I was able to avoid those areas and come back later then it works. However, the current mission is The Citadel and it's not possible to avoid The Citadel when needing to be there.

Minor problem is clock up. Either the people would talk so fast the subtext and audio would go fast without recognizing any word or the voice would be super high pitched (at least that one is funny, 3 Dog's a girl).

You won't really know until your game freezes consistently at certain places.

If a save is even the slightest bit corrupt by one digit it wont even be readable. Just shows Corrupt Save on the PS3.
