Reputation and nukes : Fallout: New Vegas

If I nuke NCR and the Legion because I want both armors, especially Royez's then will I lose a bunch of reputation with them. I'm okay if I lose a little but I don't want to be hated by the NCR because I don't want to fight two enemies during the battle for Hoover Dam, plus I like the NCR if only because I miss Tandi who I had a bit of a crush on in Fallout.

I could tell from your name. You will be vilified. It's not like a faction would really be okay with launching a nuke at them.

This bothers me a bit because I don't understand how either faction would know explicitly that you were to blame for the nuking.

Technically you get bad reputation with them, but they dont turn hostile

I wanted to know if the NCR would turn hostile because there is no way they could know I nuked them and right now I am almost idolized. I'm gonna wait do the Apocalypse until right before Hoover dam though so I can save Kimball. Will they be hostile or just wild child or something.

well, if u are idolised they will be wild child, but i do believe, that no matter how your reputation is with them, they wont turn hostile, but their reputation with u will change.

NCR is a little slow when it comes to labeling you a terrorist.
If you're an Indy supporter? They might. House or NCR though, they won't care. However, I don't think they'll let you anywhere near Kimball with a Wild Child reputation. You NEED good rep to help protect Kimball.

Yeah, I'm gonna wait to do the apocalypse until after I save Kimball. I am on Xbox so I can't just change my reputation with them. Thanks guys.

The best way to get both armours is to simply avoid the Vegas questline up to the point of killing Benny or meeting Mr. House.

This is due to the fact that both major factions clear your negative record.

Very useful if your trying to get either armour & fight for that faction.

Like Muggy said, you can do whatever you want to either faction up until killing Benny or visiting Mr. House for the first time. If you have already gone this far into the quest line, boost up your reputation as high as you can before you nuke them. Although, I don't think they will turn hostile on you. The legion on the other hand will send assassin squads non-stop.

-Vilified By Legion
-Large Reputation Gain w/ NCR

Nuke NCR:
-Vilified by NCR
-Large Reputation Gain w/ Legion

Nuke Both:
-Vilified by both NCR and Legion
-Large Reputation Gain w/ Boomers and Powder Gangers

Nuke Neither:
-Large Reputation Gain w/ Brotherhood of Steel and Followers of the Apocalypse.

The New Vegas DLCs are one of the few dlcs that I actually enjoyed. And well worth the money. A whole lot better than the DLCs for CoD and other FPShooters.

if you havent done the armagaddon and havent met kimball or cecear to help them than nuke both ncr and legion cuz they invited you so you could redeem yourself as long as you aren't vilified with the ncr and legion after you nuke 'em. remember to save before doing somethin with the missles in case you switch your decision. (i regreted destroying the nukes... shoulda bombed legion and ncr for the armor and weapons)

I wonder how they know you do ANYTHING? You killed a Legion Hit Squad, who told Caesar it was YOU and not some NCR Rangers? They're DEAD.

Yeah but in the case of the hit squads, they were sent after you. So when they failed to report back it is safe to assume that they were killed, by you.

Also, by the time you enter LR you are pretty much well known. If anyone was capable of launching nukes to destroy a nation, it would be the courier.

Again, how does Caesar know for sure it was me and not NCR Rangers and Powder Gangers in the middle of a battle and they got caught in between?

But yes, I agree that's how they must "know". But isolated, dead Powder Gangers aint tellin no tales. That's real talk.
