reputations disappearing!?

Help! My faction reputations keep resetting and met factions disappear as well!? The only faction and reputation that doesn't seem to have this happen is Goodsprings. I am trying to do the NCRCF missions and everything keeps "erasing" so to speak. I will talk to Eddie one minute and he will say that I can have powder and dynamite and when I check my status within the pipboy it says I am liked by the powder gang and neutral with NCR etc. Etc., a few minutes later I ask eddie if I can have some powder and dynamite and he says "not for you" and then something about me working against the powder gangers. So me being quite baffled go into my faction tab in the pipboy boy and low and behold the only one still listed is Goodsprings. What the hell is going on?! Anyone else experience this.

Is it possible that you are wearing a faction armor? I didn't realize the Pip-Boy changes the ratings when wearing them. At first I thought mine had also disappeared. I changed my armor to something neutral and they were right where they were before.

No I mean they completely disappear from the faction list and keep resetting to neutral, regardless of faction armor

I think it's just the powder gangers. I was vilified for clearing the complex (mostly) and then I noticed a few hours later I'm neutral. That pissed me off, I worked long and hard killing all of 'em (mostly), and they go and forgive me?!

Yeah same thing happened to me too.. I was "Vilified" with the Legion, now I'm just Neutral. I was Liked with the NCR and it reset to Neutral. Funny how my reputation with The Boomers didn't change...

As I said the only faction within my faction list unaffected is goodsprings. Every other faction disappears from list and resets to neutral so it's not just the powder gangers.

This is a good one. I've had this too and forgot all about it! I'll put it on my poll. By the way, go vote in the topic, "Self-appointed Fallout:NV Test Group" if you haven't already.

I wanted to mention that once the factions do reappear they are at the correct reputation they were at before their disappearing act. It seems that it might be happening during loads between going in/out of buildings or fast travel, so maybe it has something to do with the game not finishing loading data between areas or if its due to something else.

Are you wearing faction specific armor? I noticed what you were talking about when I was wearing powder gang armor. I think it's because when you do wear certain gear, some factions have default rep for you and as such don't appear on the rep list.

Not for me. I just had this again today. I am villified with the legion, they jumped me on the road, and they were RED on the HUD and started to attack as usual. Since my character is more of the passive type (guns, melee, unarmed all below 15) i ran until they stopped chasing me. When i went back down the road i encountered them again (ugh, they just won't leave!). So as i was trying to figure out where they all were at as to go around them, i crosshaired over them and they were AMBER on the HUD, i walked right on passed them and continued on my way with no conflict.

Again, ALL factions disappear from list except goodsprings it definitely isn't something to do with faction armor

I wanted to take a stab at this. I believe that it's possible the different societies in the game will go to neutral after a amount of time. If you want to keep them pissed or happy you will have to act the way they would in situations. Attack their enemies and wear their armor and they will like you. Don't and you'll be neutral to them. Does that make sense? If your in a gang than act like you are.

Well it does and doesn't make sense reputation should only be affected if other faction members witness you doing things otherwise I don't think it should change. But even if what you are saying was the case the why does every faction literally disappear from the faction list and show as neutral on the world map. And then once they reappear in the list (which they always do eventually at some point) the reputations are back to whatever they were before their disappearing act as I said above.

This is happening to me as well. To be clear, I don't think this has anything to do with what outfit you are wearing. I'm pretty sure this is a big GLITCH in the game. It not only resets the faction to neutral, but completely erases the faction from the Pip-boy. As in, I'm about 10-20 hours in and only have Goodsprings listed in my factions despite working for the powder gangers/the ncr/and the legion. Specifically, I killed Eddie and the pip-boy shows no faction for the PGers in the pip-boy. The only way to check my status is to check the map...and it shows as neutral despite being vilified not long ago.

I was reading around on some other forums and some people believe that armor is coded into reputation causing this glitch. Though I can't confirm this I have read many who claim they can.

People find that if you drop an outfit you are wearing into a container then it automatically deletes and resets that faction. The only way to get around the bug is to unequip the armor you are wearing before doing ANYTHING to it. I would suggest that you don't repair it, don't sell it, don't drop it, and don't place it into a container while wearing it.

This makes sense because most of the factions that DON'T glitch and stay in your pip-boy are ones that don't have a real outfit. Like Goodsprings.
