Req-For for a Thief mod?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:09 am

I wonder if someone would care to take the time to make a mod for a thief type character. I don't know how hard it would be or even how much time/effort would be involved; however, I think that there would be many people who would really appreciate this type of mod. I know that I am one who would. Well, enough with the buttering....

I know there is an "Ace Backstab" mod and I was searching to see if there was something similar that I could use for a thief character that would allow robbing with ought having to actually kill the NPC. After all If you knock someone unconscious with a club or through the use of a magic spell, you should be able to steal all their possessions and, if you wanted to take such a mod even further, slap a slave bracelet on them and then sell them to a slaver. When I think of all the NPC's that you are supposed to kill and all you get out of them is what they have on them, What a waste! Why not sell them into slavery and actually make a profit on them. Maybe their death can be triggered when they are made a slave? In most of early history, when a person owed money, or was set with a death sentence, often they were made slave and sold for some sort of profit. I think that a mod like this would not only be awesome; but, would be in very much demand as-well-as lore conscious.

Anyway, I can't do it; but, I hope that someone sees this, likes the idea, and takes it many steps further.

So much for that, I thank you for taking the time to read this, and I will now go back to my quiet corner and play.

MCP allows you to knock someone out, aka get their fatigue to 0 and then pick pocket them. You can sell slaves in mods like Nevena's Slave Hunters. Except for Vampire embrace I'm not aware of a mod that allows you to enslave the general populace though

An interesting idea. I might fiddle with that idea later. But don't expect any results from me. ^^"

Thank you very much for the info and reply.

I do have a mod that I have used frequently in the past called "Blackjack" that almost does what I want I was just hoping to carry it a bit further. I also have other mods that allow you to "en-slave" some NPC's but they are usually specific. I have been playing this game (off & on) since Morrowind first came out and once that I discovered mods and what they can do for this game, I have gotten even more pleasure from this playing. I have managed to collect some rather unique and interesting ones. I now have close to 10,000,(maybe more) in my files. Some are even still stored on different HD's that I've scavenged from diff builds over the years.

I have even tried to create some mods myself; however, I have a mental illness that interferes with this and my concentration gets (scattered?) and I have a hard time trying to maintain a focus of what I did, didn't, or need to do. Not to mention an immensely huge learning curve. I also have a tendency to create stuff that is quite possibly, not possible. LoL, I assure you that you don't want to play with one of "my" mods. And, wonder of wonders, some of them strangely work. Or at least they do, do something. Just not consistent and often not desired. So sadly I cannot contribute much to the game itself and I would really like to "pay back" to the community, something, in return.

Sometimes the nicest thing to do in return is just to leave positive comments on the sites where you download mods - going back through your mod list and looking them up on PES or Nexus and adding a comment goes a long way to making modders feel like the work they spent was appreciated - it's not expected just appreciated when it happens.

in my faction overhaul, once you attain the rank of Master Thief you can take any NPC of the class "nobel" hostage and hold them for ransom, as well as extort commoners and shopkeepers.

it also toughens up advancement requirements by quite a bit, so it may be some time before you get a chance to play with these shiny new features.
