REQ - Mesh improvement - lefemmearmour1.1

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:23 pm

I've tried making some armour out of Better bodies clothes before but often find it is just too skin tight to get the bulk look armour has so I started messing around with the Bethesda plugin - lefemmearmour1.1 - it has 3 quite good shape cuirass meshes:

A_imperial_C_female - retexured here as a http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/6739/armourm.jpg
A_imperialchain_C_female
A_netch_f_cuirass

However the UV maps on these things are so bad i can't describe them - they pull the textures all over the place - they also clip a little with Better Bodies around the shoulders - not too bad but enough to be noticeable

Anyway i was wondering if someone might be interested in improving those meshes as they would make good additional armour resources - I'd be keen to do some textures for them :)

Unfortunalty I have not the time to try it, but:

Is the description, "they look like they have been scribbled by a little kid" good enough? haha

Have you seen this http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5674, Illy? It helps immensely with the cuirass shoulder clipping. Not sure if anything was done about the UVMs tho.

Scribbling seems like an apt description - it's just a mess - there was no way i could fix it in nifskope.

I know you haven't got the time to do the armour - However i'd love to see what you could do with some of the armours - your Imperial shrine is such an incredible resource - both model and texture - to have the armours improved would be a major win :)

Thanks for the link tetchy - i downloaded it but it only contains one type of mesh - which has been adjusted to avoid the clipping and then multiple copies of those meshes pointing to Jeremy's textures for his Domina series

So the request remains - the lefemme armour have quite good shapes and useful roleplay extras like belt bags, scarfs and belts

i played with the textures and placed them on the NioLiv clothing meshes and they looked a little better i haven't done much in the way of armor or clothing so i'm not going to go rally far in to converting them because i'm not sure if i would do it correctly.. but any how the textures do go on very well and seem to look alright

The reason I dont do this is because I would have to learn how to do armor and bones and stuff, really anything that attaches to the body. And I would have to do this because its much easier to just start from scratch than to augment an existing mesh; I am doing the same thing with the replacers I am now doing.(going to finish the 3 things I am doign now and release soon actually)
