{REQ} Why there is no one that made a mod to find weapon, wh

Post » Tue Jan 11, 2011 4:14 pm

That would be fun that i play... i hate searching my sword after getting disarmed... even ennemy need something like that.

Each time player, or npc get disarmed or drop a weapon or shield(NPC), it glow, or act as light source, or show on compass... what is more frustrating than search one hour to get back your unique weapon?? Also include that if the weapon is dropped by the player... with the use of shift + click, not disarming... the weapon will not glow/add on compass...

Only to find weapon that you or ennemy loose in combat. Make that if you exit cell and come back, weapon return as normal state...

I had a great idea!! But... i am not very familare with modding... you can take my idea...

1. Type console command 'tg' to disable grass, when your weapon falls into grasses.
2. Use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14316 to find dropped weapons. (Requires OBSE)

Finders Keepers is awesome - but I REALLY dislike being disarmed; sometimes I spend more time chasing my sword around than beating up the Bad Guys during a fight. So I just use the CS to tag personal favorite weapons as Quest items. Thanks to COBL, I can drop and store them like regular items, and NPCs don't disarm me 5 times in the course of a 1-minute fight. I play Oblivion to relax and waste some baddies, not to scramble about while said baddies smack me around. Just my nickel's worth...

Funny you should ask.

I wrote a mod to do this a long time ago. Posted it on the forums and asked for some testers/feedback.

No one replied so i moved it to the "guess no one wanted this but me" folder.

Here is a link to the alpha I released. I tested it extensively, I still use it and love it (maybe because i wrote it).

Its a little light on documentation (hey its alpha), but it has a configuration file for the keys you use.

It does require OBSE (requries the latest OBSE 18)

now, you should optimize your script to when you press the key, it also teleport ennemy weapon...

but like your mod... no spell, so no way to cheat...
