request to art department: improve the vault suit

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 1:59 pm

Please add some kind of mesh texture to the vault suit so it looks less like clay and more like an actually suit. Not going to be mad if you don't, but I think it needs some kind of texture, similar to the texturing on superman's suit in the newest reboot.

The whole game looks that way. It would be weird if the suit was the only thing in the game with all that detail.

Looked at a 1080p not youtube/twitch to dead compressed footage of the game? I did and you can make out a lot of details if you do.

I mean that a lot of the game looks kind of like the surface of a pastel crayon with minor details here and there. I actually like how it looks.

The vault suits we saw in the footage are much more true to the concepts in Fallout 1 and 2. Tight, form-fitting, and colorful.

But I guess these forums never notice when Bethesda actually IS true to the franchise origins, right?

This, in the images you can clearly see material texture of the suit. Some in another forum complained that the xbox video lagged and that the game was badly optimized for xbox,

Turned out it was his internet connection who was not optimized.

Hey, I'm a fan of the originals, I played them back in the day when they were new. Alls I'm sayin is from the images I've seen the suits look like clay, but others have posted that they look better in high res photos. I only wish they'd post links.

At this point and time the only thing beth gonna do is fix bugs and optimise the game, not add things.

Yeah its horrendous. My FNV character wouldn't be seen dead in that creaseless marshmallow puft skin suit. Its horrible.

Just wait for the 4096x4096 resolution texture mod for it - should hit about 3 days after launch.

It DOES have a texture like the Superman suit, or Spider-man's outfit. In the 1080p uncompressed footage of the trailer, when the Sole Survivor pats the dog, you can see the micro-details on the vault suit, and it has a mesh weave diamond pattern. http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Fallout-4-4.jpg

I should remind people that the vault suit is not your armour like in previous games, it is an undergarment so to speak, so its purely aesthetic on whether you wear it or use some nasty wasteland coat.

I hope it's too late for that. I just want them debugging the game so that it's released on time.

Bethesda is actually being very true to the originals and bringing back some things that were forgotten.

The vault jumpsuits were always tight and form fitting.

Power armor was always supposed to be a walking tank, not a normal armor.

It looks like the Isometric Fallouts' Jumpsuits. I'm surprised that more Nostalgia players aren't jumping all over it.

EDIT: Can we get the Vault 101 Jumpsuit in the "Fo3/NV" Style? Even as an Easter Egg would be nice?

As said by someone on another thread, we should appreciate Bethesda bringing back the aesthetics of the originals.

The fact that they look back on the originals to keep the new installment faithful to them is always a good sign.

It looks great! I love how skintight it is. And it look just like the original from F1 and F2.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Considering how tight and sixy it looks on the behind area on the male lead...

I'm gonna drag out wearing it, trying to mod it as much as I can. Gotta enjoy that hotness.
