Request: Crysis 2 Xbox 360 Premium Theme and Avatar Items

Post » Sat Mar 14, 2009 11:59 pm

I officially request that a member of the Crysis Development team design and release an Xbox 360 premium theme and Xbox Live avatar clothing and accessories. I am grateful that there are Gamerpics already, but the fans who play Crysis 2 on the 360 need the complete experience!

I have done a forums search and found no thread relating specifically to an "xbox 360 premium theme" request to exist. If this thread gets enough attention, I would ask that it be stickied until a Dev has the time to see it.

Well, I see the thread your referring to and it is NOT the same as mine. In my thread I am primarily requesting a Premium Theme first, avatar items second. But, to be fair and reduce similarity, I will change the "avatar items" part of my thread title.

Problem solved. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Well, I figure the 3rd option I put is an elusive way of saying "I don't care". I DO care about this so I don't want people who don't care to come into this thread and spam such an option.

My goal here is to promote this thread so the Crytek Developers will see it and it can spark their interest in not only "finishing" the game by fixing bugs and glitches but by fulfilling the desires of fans who wish to have a "Complete" experience across all platforms.

Thanks for everyone's positive feedback so far! Thanks for voting!

I will seriously laugh till i cry if this clone thread survives without getting locked, while my thread asking for clarification on the patch gets locked with a link to the moderators void-of-information sticky.....

Why would this thread get locked? I haven't done anything wrong and I don't see any problems here.

The other threads that have been locked recently have been locked for commenting on things that have been raised in other, earlier threads.

How exactly is this thread any different in that regard?

The ones they HAVE locked just so happen to deal with the latest patch and how ineffective it was. The reasons given by the moderators are that there are simillar threads and that you shouldn't clutter the forum with the same things over and over.

I dont intend to offend, I'm just saying that if they lock my thread about the patch for being essentially a clone, why shouldn't they lock this one? To be fair your thread is wrtten marginally better than the other previous threads on this topic, and it has a poll, but it is in it's simplest form still a clone-thread.

I always use the search feature before posting a new thread, as I did before posting this thread. I found NO threads that were specifically requesting a Crysis 2 Premium Theme for the Xbox 360. There was a thread asking about avatar items, but my thread is PRIMARILY requesting a premium theme. I threw in asking about avatars to simply make it known to any Dev who sees this thread that BOTH are being requested (as they are two different types of DLC).

If you do a search you will find there is NO title for any thread like mine and there is no thread requesting a premium theme for the 360, nor is there a poll regarding this topic. I think there is no reason whatsoever for a moderator to lock this thread. It is unique. It is NOT a "clone" of other topics discussed previously, because if there were other topics discussing, specifically, the request of an Xbox 360 Premium Theme for Crysis 2, then it SHOULD have come up when I did general forums search for keywords. It did not. This thread contributes to the community as it should.

Just because your title is specific doesn't mean this isn't a clone-topic, There where 2 threads with DLC in their titles yesterday or the day before.

A Unique title does not make a Unique thread.

As I have stated previously, I do think yours is better than the previous, so hopefully the community can follow yours rather create further threads of the same or very simillar natures.

I also don't see any reason for a moderator to lock every single thread asking for clarification on the patch, but they still have locked them, and if you read my FIRST post in this thread correctly you would notice I never said they would lock this thread, I just said I'd laugh till I cry if this DOESN'T get locked and my new thread asking for clarification on the patches does get locked, which it probably will because the moderators don't seem to believe providing genuine information to their consumers is part of their job description.

Now, I will leave your thread asking for DLC to the people who actually want to discuss it.

Well, I didn't do a search for EVERY keyword, but if you say there were multiple thread's titled with "DLC" in them then I should change mine. I should've just kept the DLC part out of the title in the first place.

I apologize for the comment I left yesterday I was being a d*ck for no apparent reason. I thought what I wrote wasn't that harsh but when I reread it I laughed at how much of an @ss I was being.

Yeah I do. :)

Here is two desktops I made for here at work using the forum background. JUst got tired of looking at the standard wallpapers. I tried to make it look like the Armors ribs or close to it. THese were all done very quickly because I don't have a lot of time here at work to really go all out. Sadly :(

Oh and anyone is welcome to them of course. If I get some more time I may work on them a little more but that is if time is permitting.

The size is great for a 22" monitor @ 1,680px × 1,050px.

Funny thing is 1680 x 1050 is my screen size! I find it to be a less common resolution than most. I love hunting through the web for wallpapers and avatars so much; can't imagine how cool it'd be to make my own...

Let the developers focus their attention to patching up the multiplayer portion of the game first.

I agree that the technical problems are a higher priority. However, I am sure the developers have the time and resources to both dedicate personnel to fixing technical issues AND develop fun downloadable content for fans such as themes, gamerpics and avatar items. Yes, expansions and add-ons take much more time and resources to create; but customizable content such as themes and avatar items do not.

Why are you so willing to pay for useless stuff like that or DLC (wich is already on the disc but is locked so you pay twice the same thing) ?

Just wanted to know, no offense ;)

Well, the first reason I'll give you is personal: I LOVE to customize everything I use. Be it my cell phone, Xbox 360, PS3 or PC. There are many people just like me, too. Another reason is that if you see things from a different perspective, as I do, you might realize that buying themes, avatar items, gamerpics and expansions on the console (or any platform, as they all have their share of micro content) is simply another way for the Developer and Publisher of a game (any game) to net more profit without needing to invest much time or resources.

These types of sales are known as "Micro-transactions". In today's world, micro-transactions are where the BIG profit is, because it costs so little to design and release small bits of content such as themes, gamerpics and certain types of game expansions (such as new maps, or weapons, etc). I want my favorite game developer and publisher to net more profit at less cost. Why? Because then they will eventually have more time and resources available. This will allow them to put more quality into their products and create more innovation. We need to support our favorite Developers. Micro-transactions are the best way for a Developer and Publisher to net significantly more profit over time.

I understand your point. I'm being myself a pc modder so you know I'm not arguing about how people like spending their money.

But on the other hand, it pushes developpers to release not-finished games, as they know they could impelment new content that could have been present in the retail version.
And the worst that can happen is the fact that they would release dlc so that people with retail version couldn't play with people who installed the dlc. A mean way to push buying.
Keep in mind that dlc (called patch on pc) has always been free until microsoft forced developers to make it charged.

Yes microtransactions help developpers, but it can tend them to release more and more very small dlc, turning everyone in kind of milking cow.

So in my opinion, I'm not against dlc, but I'm not so keen on people who are already asking for it while the game has just been released.

Focus more on fixing the actual content, and when it's spot on, then buy new dlc.
