Hello everyone, before I make my request I want to tell you all about myself. I’ve been a TES fan for a little over six years now. My first game was Morrowind but at the time the PC I had could barely run the game. When I got my Xbox 360 the first 360 game I got for it was TES Oblivion and I spent many hours playing it across many saves. When the Game of the Year Edition came out for 360 I bought that, and eventually I picked up the PC version on Steam.
The reason I’m telling you this is because I don’t want to seem like I’m ungrateful with what I’m about to ask. The PC version of Oblivion has always had horrible controller support. I’ve looked at some of the work around and none of them compare to the console version.
However, you guys really got the controller support working great on the PC version of Skyrim. I can play it with a keyboard and mouse when I’m at my desktop. Or when I just want to sit back I can move to my living room and play it on my HTPC with a 360 controller hooked up to it (and still get all the benefits of the PC version).
My proposition is this: take a second look at the PC version and implement some sort of controller support at least on par with the Console version of Oblivion. Really, the game goes on sale every steam sale and I’m sure it sells pretty good regularly. Only you guys at Bethesda know how much it’s worth to you now, but I think it would be good gesture. I really want to go back and play this game and being able to play with a controller from my couch on my big screen would be very nice.
(And while I'm at making unreasonable requests, controller support for Morrowind too? )
Hopefully everyone can give their input. I know this is probably a pretty big request and might take some time. But I think there are still new buyers out there who would be convinced to buy it if this was implemented.
