Request for mod compilation download

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:29 pm

Has anyone uploaded a compilation of what they consider to be the epitome of mod downloads?

I'm looking for someone who has played the game for a very long time and has hundreds of mods including:

QTP 3
FCOM
ALL top end texture mods
Companion mods
advlt mods

And tons of other mods that they believe have made the game incredibly enjoyable. The reason I am looking for someone who has played the game for a long time is because there are a ton of mods out there that I don't have the time to search through and install myself.

I am looking for someone to upload their folder somewhere...it will probably total 20gbs or so in size and an explanation of how to get it to work and what utility addons are needed, like OBMM or OBSE.

This is a request and I will reimburse you through paypal if necessary.

If talk of paypal goes against ToS, I will rewrite that part...i didnt see anything

That's not how it works. I'd be happy to post my load order, but you will definitely have to download and install stuff for yourself.

That's liking asking someone to photocopy their face so you can make a mask of it. No one is going to have your "ideal" load order.

Edit of Edit: In hindsight, it's probably illegal.

ummm...one thing about mods is that what i like, you might not like.

And why should we waste 20gig's of internet and our time so you can have the same loadout as us? Just look up many of the other "what are the best mods?" threads and go and download the mods for yourself.

Darn...I simply don't have the time to go searching for mods and installing them. Would there be any way to simplify the process?

That's why I said I'm willing to reimburse. I would never expect anyone to spend that much time uploading their files and explaining the load order for free.

There is http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1046272&hl=. The guy has put together a collection of mods and an install-it-all-at-once set of batch files. An earlier version of his collection was actually my first experience of modding Oblivion. It certainly won't be custom-tailored to your particular desires, but it's a good large collection.

Of course, you will have to download all the stuff yourself. And the setup isn't exactly one-click. But the whole thing is less work than starting from scratch yourself.

EDIT: Wait a minute! If you don't have time to add your own mods to the game, how the heck do you think you'll have time to play the result?

Thanks, that's a very helpful link.

I'll have time to play in one, maybe 2 hour segments next school semester...not really enough time to play and install mods. I played this game in the past with a ton of mods and I found myself spending just as much time getting mods as I did playing the game.

Thanks again

So did everyone else who uses mods. If you want to enjoy mod-usage, put some effort into it yourself, MAKE the time. Don't ask others to do the work for you. And offering to pay money for mods is against the TOS. You can claim you're paying for another person's time, but in the end you get mods, they get money - that's paying for mods.

If you really don't have the time, then don't use mods.

Using mods is a time-consuming but rewarding experience. There are tens of thousands of mods out there, many of which are choices of the same thing (e.g. texture pack) and the only way to get your ideal experience is to choose yourself which ones you want to use. It will take you many hours to download, install and check each mod - you might find it doesn't work on your computer. No compilation is going to speed up or simplify that process for you, but you may find that the compilation contains elements you don't want to it takes longer to sort through and eliminate the unwanted features.

Yes, it's a learning curve, but you only have to do your initial load order once, just like installing the game. Once you've got the set you want, you can put the rest of your game-time into playing.

If you do not have time to do this, you do not have time to use mods.

And, yes, paying for mods breaks the EULA you agreed to when you installed the game.
