A request for the modders

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 9:53 pm

First, I am not a modder. I have barely scratched the surface and still have issues with my one CK created follower's looks. The CK makes me crazy! Modders have my utmost respect and thanks!!

That said, for anyone out there that likes to mod food recipes, (and this probably sounds goofy) but for all the recipes for cooking and baking, I have yet to see a simple sandwich. Bread, meat, and/or cheese. If anyone would like to do this, it would be great! Working class folks and travelers all over Skyrim would love you!!

(yes, I know the history of the sandwich, doesn't pertain or matter to me for the game's sake :) )

Thanks, whether it happens or not. :)

Edit: Fancy sandwiches would work too....anything. Somebody please run with it!

Nice idea! I may add these as an optional addon to my mod Immersive Ingestibles but I would need to find some meshes/textures to use. Creating the recipes would be easy, but creating the meshes and textures for sandwiches would require an artist who knew their way around nifskope, etc. Alternatively, I could make all the sandwiches just look like bread.

I thought of your mod, Turija, soon as I saw the topic of this thread.

Well, I'm no artist. If I were you, I'd go with "just bread, white bread".... You could use the "whole bread" for REALLY PRIME sandwiches - like beef with all the trimmings.... and the half-breads for veggies, cheese, etc.

A proper image would be nice, but like Serethil said, the bread image would work fine! Run with it however you want, I'd love to see it! :D

Edit: Yikes, not sure if Immersive Ingestables works with Hunterborn+Campfire foods and recipes. :(

Andra, have you seen this mod? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63010/?tab=3&selected_game=110&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fid%3D63010%26user%3D1%26gid%3D110&pUp=1 by Mr Dave. It sounds sort of similar to what you're looking for.

NO!

*&#*@$*....blasted search function! *sigh* I never saw this.

I can use this, but it could be so much more....I still think Turija should go for it for his mod.

Thanks Pseron! :hugs:

I don't use Hunterborn or Campfire (I'm still using Frostfall 2.6), but at some point I could look at making a patch.

What I could do in the meantime is release the sandwiches as a standalone optional file, so you wouldn't need to install Immersive Ingestibles to have your sandwiches.

What sorts of effects do you want your sandwiches to have when you eat them?

What different types of sandwiches do you want and what ingredients do you want for the recipes for the sandwiches?

Wow. How has this been so overlooked?

The obvious one to me is a grilled (mammoth) cheese. That could be kinda over powered though. Maybe have a perk to unlock grilled sandwiches or something :P

I wouldn't want them op'd, but I imagine some kind of restore health benefit. Any recipe combinations of the different cheeses and meats would work, they don't have to be complicated, with perhaps effects based on the effects of the ingredients used. Like Serethil mentioned, even veggies could be added. There are so many possibilities, or just a couple basic items could be created. I suppose really, just think of what ingredients are available and what would sound good. lol

Edit: an example would be a basic 'traveller's sandwich', just meat, cheese, and bread, that would travel well and last longer than one with cut veggies added.

Sounds good. I will work on this but it might take a few weeks. I have some other modding projects I am working on as well and I want to search the web for some freeware meshes/textures. The one that guy used looks pretty good but I obviously can't use his but maybe there are some freeware models I can use.

I like Andra's idea too since vanilla have way too many soup recipes (sometimes I hate the soup recipes) and particially no steady meal recipe(s) e.g brunch (usually cooked when camping), lunch, supper (a little lighter than what a breakfast is).

How about making a separate mod that's compatible with your Immersive Ingestibles mod and even playing without your mod the new mod will work. Should you decide to make such a mod and need a beta tester then let me know. :)

I searched on Nexus and found these food resources free to use. ;)

Sounds wonderful, and I certainly have no problem with waiting! :D I'm just happy you're considering it!

Thanks, and I agree about too many soups!! How does one carry a soup on the road, or cook one if it's pouring rain? Yes, I know there are other things and options....but who couldn't use more? :) Situations differ....

I'm also surprised that nobody has come up with hard boiled eggs, lol! Those would make for great travel food also.

Edit: someone told me he's seen eggs in a recipe, but couldn't remember what form they were in.

Realistic Needs and Diseases has a recipe for Boiled Eggs included in the mod, perhaps that is where it was seen.

Heh.. When you're too busy making skimpy outfits, there is no thought processes to spare for anything else.

That being said, if I was still a 3D modeler, I'd love to jump on this.

As I am fairly certain he has that mod, you're probably right! Thanks. :)

LOL, right about that!

Turija, unless he can't fit it in, is going to work on this for us. :)

I could still use a modeler on the team, since I don't do that myself (yet, maybe someday), so without a modeler we will have to make due with vanilla assets or whatever I can scrounge up "from the old interweb" as Richard Rawlings likes to say.

I can keep hoping, for either a modeler or the web to come through. I can search too. :D

I have created a few basic sandwich meshes. They need to be tested in game and added in the CK. Let me know if there are any problems and I will try and fix them. Also, all idea's for sandwich's will be considered aslong as there is available assets in game to use.

Ashcra, Thank you SO much!! You and Turija are truly good people!!

I'm learning about modding in little bits and pieces at a time, but I will never be able (nor want to with the demands of my job) to do the things all of you modders do!
