(Request) Morrowind Online to be fixed and optimised

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 4:41 am

I was wondering if anyone could develop this further and optimise the scripts, or at least make it run with mge's mwse and add the ability to save (automatic save cleaner?).
I know it's old and some people dont like the idea of morrowind online, but I for one will enjoy lan XD
you can get it here (source is included)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/morrowindonline/files/Morrowind%20Online/old%20MWO/bamf.rar/download
And mwse version it requires:

Latest MWSE (standalone) version is http://sourceforge.net/projects/mwse/, not 0.9.2...

You can also use this two.

IMHO I'm not fond of that Morrowind is an online game, because it was not designed to be a game with a online gaming feature. :)

I think one of the game engine rewrites was looking to implement multiplayer (although it's someway off). A brief snout around and it doesn't seem to be OpenMW or Crystal Scrolls, it's the other one... Whatever it's called.

I believe it's Project Aedra.

Just wait for Aedra or one of the other open sources, it'll be cleaner.

Open source doesn't mean good source. ;) Look at MGE's code, no sane developer would be willing to pick that up and run with it, even though it's open. :P

As stated, Project Aedra is meant to support multiplayer and have some other improvements, and is coming along nicely from what I've seen. You'd probably be better off waiting for the proper MP than trying to rework a failed hack. If you have the source, I'd be interested in taking a quick glance at it (I'm not going to do any work on it).
