Hi-Res Texture Pack?

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 3:46 am

Are we likely to see a hi-res texture pack released? terrain and building (brick) need it the most - objects look quite nice.

After a bit of tweaking it can look very nice: http://img132.imageshack.us/i/21020010150182323260739.jpg/

Modding community will probably release high-end texture pack before crytek does, they are just waiting for the new sandbox editor. It's the most foolish thing crytek ever did, downgrading everything open worlds, textures, shaders etc...duh, they deserve a nano punch where it really hurts.

The textures are stored in .pak files, which are currently encrypted. They will be unencrypted when Sandbox is released and then the HQ texture/particle mods will be out. Can't wait!

We are not going to receive a sandbox 3 editor. If we receive one it will be a dumbed down point and click map creator that also works on consoles. They are there largest audience. Also I doubt they want to loss out on the money they can make off map packs.

Time to just coast and wait for BF3.

A guy from crymod said there will be se 3 but we have to wait for the official confirmation. Also there was an editor in the leaked version and people have managed to decrypt those .pak files, overall i am pissed and postive at the same time.

Back in Far Cry times Crytek released AMD 64 patch with included about 1.5 gb of high res textures and better models.

Since Crytek screwed pc version so hard in everything, even graphics, their duty now to undo damage they did to their reputation, and just some minor shader pack for DX11 mode will not be enough to make game look better, they need to release texture pack with resolution of textures equal or bigger than in original Crysis.

Consoles are not getting an editor and BF3 is a console port.

BF3 isn't a console port idiot. It's one of the few games coming out that wont be. Don't disrespect till we know for sure or not.

Also, high-res texture pack is needed. oh wait, you will have to buy that in the 5 dollar DLC, long with the 5 dollar Dx11 DLC.

BAHAHAHHAHA...

MAXIMUM FAIL

Sandbox has no relation to textures. All you do is add the new textures to the .PAK files.

@nelthar

I'll wait for the official patch / community mods. Piracy will not help things.

Crytek doesn't care about PC users anymore...only console now
