Anyway, maybe that should be addressed. Stormcloak Prisoners should have 0 responsibility.

In my experience there's always three guards. Maybe one got away? Possibly, a hunter or some random npc saw you. Could of been Ma'iq the liar who's always conveniently around. Not sure if he'd tell, though.

Strange, I've rescued two such prisoners and never got a bounty. This being a Bethesda game however, there are no doubt hundreds of obscure glitches that are difficult to nail down.

Maybe wll is right — the third guard escaped to tattle. Where is your bounty?

theres usually 3 with the prisoners and you would need to kill all witnesses to avoid the bounty

I think the problem here may be that perhaps you attacked the guards before they became hostile to you? If you approach a prisoner you'll have an option to free him (you'll even have an option to give him some spare gear), at which point the guards escorting him become hostile and attack you. You should then be able to defend yourself without getting a bounty.

I hve yet to see guards and a prisoner... I have seen many Tgalmor Justicers, and i always kick their elven asses, and never get a bounty. :shrug:

The only people who don't want the Thalmor dead are the Thalmor.

Same thing happened to me except it was a group of lousy Thalamor.

It's always 3 guards. If you kept your bounty it's because 1 got away. Kill all of them and your bounty get's dropped because there were no witnesses
