Priorities(Gold, loot, quests, relationships, etc.)?: Loot, then gold, then quests, then relationship.
How do you get what you want from a NPC?: If I can't ask them for it somehow, I tend to try to steal it first, failing that I would murder them.
A lone friendly traveler is encountered in the wild, how do you approach him/her?: I generally walk up to them to see what they're up to.
The same lone traveler is non-threatening, yet hostile(possibly of another allegiance or faction)?: don't understand. I would probably kill them if thats what you're asking, as they are an enemy.

Does it bother you when NPCs say bad things about you?: Kind of, but not all of the time.
If any of those NPCs were to travel outside of civilization, what would you do, if anything?: Depends. Some gaurd sometimes say that sort of thing but also say good things, so it depends.
Do you give up on difficult quests? Do you plan better for a new approach? Do you see it through, no matter how difficult?: I try again later when Im stronger.

Do you lie - when it is an option - to receive a greater reward or information?: Not often.
Do you enjoy learning about the land and people of Skyrim and the history of Tamriel?: Most of the time yes, but sometimes its dragged on longer than neccecary.
Does listening to a NPC's story affect any decisions you make?: Yes, hearing the other side of a story can compleaty change my view.
Do you think you could be a better leader than any of the guild/faction leaders. How about the Jarls or even a King?: Some Jarls are over-confidents, so some but otherwise not too sure.
Things aren't going your way, do you turn off the game, or do you revert to a previous save to try again?: revert save.
How do you view the zoomorphic races? Elves? Humans?: Not bothered by race.
Do you perform tasks in your own way, or to-the-letter?: Tend to follow them as closely as I can but go my own way if thats not possible.
Stormcloaks or Imperial Legion?: legion
Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood?: Thieves if I had to choose.
Is marriage more of a business transaction than about affinity for a NPC?: Havent married, but would probably be affinity.
If you use magic, what do you use it for? Mostly for destruction spells and healing, not for much else.
If you use stealth, what do you use it for? Dont use it alot.

Was going to make them all bold, but it played up with the lines, so I left it. But hope it helped ypur research.

Approximate Age: 35ish
Race: Nord
Gender: Male
Aptitude(Stealth, Combat, Magic, or mixed?): Combat/Magic; fairly balanced between two
Top 10 Major Skills:
One-handed, Destruction, Heavy Armor, Restoration, Lockpicking, Speech, Alteration, Smithing; don't really use others but sometimes Illusion, Enchanting
Criminal History: No bounties; the game counts picking locks (even in dungeons) as crimes, but otherwise clean
Allegiances: None - may do Stormcloaks with this character; haven't decided
Factions: Greybeards, Blades (until act 3 of MQ), Mages College, Bard's College, Companions (but not Circle); would join Vigilants of Stendarr but can't.
Horseback or on foot?: Foot
Do you spend more time in towns/villages/cities, or adventuring/questing/wandering the wild?: Cities? Meh.
Do you organize and/or manage your inventories at homes?: yes
Do you keep items that you never plan on using?: some as 'trophies' or because they're cool and wouldn't seem right to sell (Thane rewards)
Do you pay attention to encumberment on a regular basis?: obsessively
Priorities(Gold, loot, quests, relationships, etc.)?: Exploration/wandering, relationships, LORE GATHERING (Library!!!), did I say exploration? Oh and exploration.
How do you get what you want from a NPC?: Speech, bribery, charm if all else fails; almost never resort to violence.
A lone friendly traveler is encountered in the wild, how do you approach him/her?: friendly
The same lone traveler is non-threatening, yet hostile(possibly of another allegiance or faction)?: if they don't attack I don't attack. Back away and go around.
Does apparel/armor aesthetics, practicality, value, or rarity determine use?: aesthetics, weight
Do you prefer purchasing equipment or finding/looting/stealing/discovering for use?: purchase if can, but I explore a lot so I find a lot; my thief character has no qualms about stealing, but this one does (see below)
Do you learn more about your quests, NPCs, and faction before undertaking quests?: depends on the character - I play several characters and try to play in-character as much as possible; some characters may avoid certain quests if given reason to question e.g. my battlemage/paladin won't join the Circle in the Companions.
Do allegiances, morals and beliefs, or other factors determine who you work for/with and the tasks you perform?: depends on character.
When you have companions, do you let them do most of the work?: Never use companions. When forced to I do the work so they don't get killed.
Do you equip them with improved equipment, or let them use what they have?: No luck changing their gear set-up (maybe I haven't figured out how to do it?); usually leave what they have; but rarely have followers
Do you have them carry most of your burden(ex. loot, weapons, armor, etc.)?: no
Does it bother you when NPCs say bad things about you?: depends on character; I personally find rude characters annoying but then, there are rude people in the world too.
If any of those NPCs were to travel outside of civilization, what would you do, if anything?: depends on character; BM/P nothing; thief would pickpocket, assassin might kill
Do you give up on difficult quests? Do you plan better for a new approach? Do you see it through, no matter how difficult?: see it through no matter how difficult
Do you interact with NPCs other than for essential needs, wants, or tasks?: yes - always hoping to hear new opinions or stories
Do you lie - when it is an option - to receive a greater reward or information?: depends on character; BM/P no; thief and assassin - "Would I lie?" (innocent look)
Do you enjoy learning about the land and people of Skyrim and the history of Tamriel?: YES. Main point of the game for me.
Does listening to a NPC's story affect any decisions you make?: Yes
Do you think you could be a better leader than any of the guild/faction leaders. How about the Jarls or even a King?: LOL. Probably. But they're only charicatures of people - I'm sure if they were real people they would be better leaders than they're portrayed in the game. Wouldn't want to be King - it would interfere with me exploring ruins.
Things aren't going your way, do you turn off the game, or do you revert to a previous save to try again?: Go with current save until exhaust all possibilities, consult guide, only re-load older save if nothing else works
How do you view the zoomorphic races? Elves? Humans?: "My people!" I often think of Lewis' remarks in Out of the Silent Planet about how sad our world is that we have only one hnau (speaking race). What I wouldn't give for real Khajiit, Argonians, Elves, and Orcs. More perspectives is always good. But in particular:
Argonians - cool but scary (visually) in Skyrim. Fascinating culture.
Khajiit - can I be one? Love everything about them - having one over for dinner might require understandings about the idea of "property" :-)
Orsimer (Orcs) - I have friends who remind me of Orcs. I like them even if they're a bit rough around the edges.
Dunmer - love their culture but they are a bit scary (Daedra worship). My BM/P married a Dunmer.
Altmer - they may be snooty but they have "the knowing of a lot of things". I suspect they would make good friends but horrible bosses. Not a fan of the Thalmor.
Bosmer - not sure. Seem okay but never get a strong sense of who they are as a people except in A Dance in the Fire and that may be ideologically tinged.
Redguard - not much experience (didn't play Daggerfell or Redguard). Seem okay.
Breton - seem nice, not much experience
Imperials - Romanesque Imperials of MW and Skyrim are cool but probably wouldn't trust; "English" Imperials of Oblivion seem okay
Nord - interesting; view as very rough (they are) but very interesting history and culture. Really enjoying exploring it in Skyrim.
Do you perform tasks in your own way, or to-the-letter?: Usually follow instructions unless a different way presents itself or I have moral qualms (e.g. with BM/P) with quest path.
Stormcloaks or Imperial Legion?: Haven't really looked into it. Would side with Stormcloaks because Imperials support racist/Mundus-destroying Thalmor; BUT understand Imperials probably tolerate Thalmor to keep a modicum of control and/or avoid another Great War. Tough choice. Haven't played either, yet.
Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood?: Prefer Thieves Guild, though unsure of Daedric stuff in Skyrim quest-line. Dark Brotherhood quest-lines are fun but require a darker touch. Even my rogueish characters have trouble going that far to "the dark side".
Is marriage more of a business transaction than about affinity for a NPC?: Affinity
If you use magic, what do you use it for? Combat, healing, guidance (Clairvoyance spell; BM/P); concealment, charm, guidance (Thief/Assassin).
If you use stealth, what do you use it for? BM/P n/a; Thief/Assassin stealing, stealth kills while exploring, evade enemies

My first playthrough is always a Paladin-type character for the MQ. Because I'm having so much fun with magic in this one he's a Battlemage with strong Paladin tendancies. Note that Paladin does not mean unthinking loyalty to the guild (e.g. KotN and especially the Blades in Skyrim). Subsequent characters tend towards rogue/thieves who usually amass gigantic libraries (all the best books in OB needed to be stolen) while maintaining cover identies - usually mage.

Did you see that I like exploring? :-)

Hello, fellow gamers. I am trying to conduct a fairly short questionnaire on how individuals play Skyrim to assist in predicting personality traits. The main focus is the quasi-Freudian theory that people use video games as an outlet to act out - via avatar - their inner desires, and hidden morals and beliefs without fear of social or societal judgement or ostracization.I will also use any demographic information collected to better understand age, racial, and gender differences in play styles, as well as possible educational and economic level differences, if any.
You can feel free to post in this forum or send me a message via inbox.
Your help is appreciated.

Does apparel/armor aesthetics, practicality, value, or rarity determine use?: Aesthetics/Practicality with a leaning towards Practicality.
Do you prefer purchasing equipment or finding/looting/stealing/discovering for use?: Discovering..
Do you learn more about your quests, NPCs, and faction before undertaking quests?: Sometimes. I'd like to be doing these tasks for a reason other than 'nice'.
Do allegiances, morals and beliefs, or other factors determine who you work for/with and the tasks you perform?: Eh, not really. My character is rather neutral.
When you have companions, do you let them do most of the work?: Yes. They lure the enemy while I ready my daggers. If I manage a sneak attack, great. If not, I summon backup.
Do you equip them with improved equipment, or let them use what they have?: Improved. Cicero looks a bit odd in armor, though, so I might make an exception.
Do you have them carry most of your burden(ex. loot, weapons, armor, etc.)?: No, I only make them carry stuff when absolutely necessary.
Does it bother you when NPCs say bad things about you?: Depends on the NPC. Ancano's taunting makes sense - Farengar Secret-Fire's doesn't.
If any of those NPCs were to travel outside of civilization, what would you do, if anything?: Ignore them, I guess. Depends on character I'm playing.
Do you give up on difficult quests? Do you plan better for a new approach? Do you see it through, no matter how difficult?: Depends. Sometimes I just leave & return later. Sometimes I'm extremely stubborn and try everything possible to complete it.
Do you interact with NPCs other than for essential needs, wants, or tasks?: Yep.
Do you lie - when it is an option - to receive a greater reward or information?: Nope/Not this character.
Do you enjoy learning about the land and people of Skyrim and the history of Tamriel?: Yes.
Does listening to a NPC's story affect any decisions you make?: Sometimes.
Do you think you could be a better leader than any of the guild/faction leaders. How about the Jarls or even a King?: Of the guilds, maybe. Jarl, depends. King, probably not.
Things aren't going your way, do you turn off the game, or do you revert to a previous save to try again?: Try again unless it's getting to the headache-inducing point. If so, then just shut off game & take a break.
How do you view the zoomorphic races? Elves? Humans?: Humans are humans. I like the khajiit voices & background. Argonians make me giggle because they look funny in helmets (my race of choice, ever since Daggerfall, was argonian. That is, until Skyrim). Elves are lovely.
Do you perform tasks in your own way, or to-the-letter?: My own way, if given the opportunity.
Stormcloaks or Imperial Legion?: Neither.
Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood?: DB I guess, but I haven't completed Thieves Guild, and this is probably not the character that will do so.
Is marriage more of a business transaction than about affinity for a NPC?: No, and that's why I'm not married. I don't like the options :P
If you use magic, what do you use it for? Backup in combat, distractions, moving silently.
If you use stealth, what do you use it for? Getting sneak-attacks when possible.

Skyrim Related Questions
These will apply to the main avatar you use, or the one that feels closest to YOU
Approximate Age: Can't say I ever really think about it, my charcter is a tool for experiencing the game
Race: Currently playing Breton
Gender: Male
Aptitude(Stealth, Combat, Magic, or mixed?): Mixed, leaning more toward combat
Top 10 Major Skills: 1h, light armour, smithing, block, restoration, alchemy, sneak, speech, pickpocket, alteration - in roughly descending order
Criminal History: Minor; I have no qualms when it comes to taking things from virtual people if I think they'll be useful to me, but balance it out against the possibility of losing resources to gain them (ie, no point killing anyone over a health potion if I'll need to use three to fight off the guards) so generally petty theft is the limit
Allegiances: Haven't really advanced the story enough to have any
Factions: Currently running with the Companions and the College, but will join all that are possible to join, I want to see everything in the game
Horseback or on foot?: More often on foot, but do have a horse for the longer treks between major cities
Do you spend more time in towns/villages/cities, or adventuring/questing/wandering the wild?: Probably fairly even, though time in towns will hopefully reduce over time
Do you organize and/or manage your inventories at homes?: Yes
Do you keep items that you never plan on using?: Not if I know I never plan on using them, ie weapons/armour etc, but pretty much anything that either is likely to be used to make something, and quite a few things that don't specifiy a purpose
Do you pay attention to encumberment on a regular basis?: Yes
Priorities(Gold, loot, quests, relationships, etc.)?: Quests and basically anything to experience as much of the game as possible
How do you get what you want from a NPC?: In stages, from first to last option: Ask, quest, steal, kill (again according to the relative return mentioned under crime)
A lone friendly traveler is encountered in the wild, how do you approach him/her?: Generally run straight up to them to see who/what they are
The same lone traveler is non-threatening, yet hostile(possibly of another allegiance or faction)?: Basically the same as above, approach them, see who/what they are and be on my way unless they attack
Does apparel/armor aesthetics, practicality, value, or rarity determine use?: Practicality
Do you prefer purchasing equipment or finding/looting/stealing/discovering for use?: Anything other than purchasing, though probably to do with having the notion that looted items are better than shop ones ingrained into me
Do you learn more about your quests, NPCs, and faction before undertaking quests?: Depends how much information is available, if there's more tactical info and a little flavour I'll lap it up, start bombarding me with encyclopedic knowledge and I'll get bored
Do allegiances, morals and beliefs, or other factors determine who you work for/with and the tasks you perform?: Not really, if it's available to do in the game I'll generally try to do it
When you have companions, do you let them do most of the work?: I tend to wade into a fight and let the companion do what they want in the background, they generally hold their own but certainly don't do most of the work
Do you equip them with improved equipment, or let them use what they have?: Won't go out of my way to do so, but if I get an upgrade myself then they get whatever I had, or if I find something better than their equipment they get it
Do you have them carry most of your burden(ex. loot, weapons, armor, etc.)?: Fairly often, yes, they seem to be able to hold a lot more than me!
Does it bother you when NPCs say bad things about you?: Not at all
If any of those NPCs were to travel outside of civilization, what would you do, if anything?: Nothing, unless there were a benefit to killing them (which could be anything from a decent item to simple peace of mind if, say, they were to have left to follow me around and be annoying)
Do you give up on difficult quests? Do you plan better for a new approach? Do you see it through, no matter how difficult?: Haven't ever given up on a quest, but I have previously stumbled into areas that I've rapidly backed out of and will go back later
Do you interact with NPCs other than for essential needs, wants, or tasks?: I'll talk to a few for flavour, but no compulsively
Do you lie - when it is an option - to receive a greater reward or information?: Every time; again, my aim is to get everything possible out of the game, no qualms about morals when it comes to virtual people, especially not if it's going to give me a better chance to save the world from whatever apocolype is impending
Do you enjoy learning about the land and people of Skyrim and the history of Tamriel?: As with quest info, in reasonable doses yes, but show me a bookcase full of 10+ books and they go in the bag and will never be looked at again
Does listening to a NPC's story affect any decisions you make?: Sometimes, but generally the potential reward is the bigger influence
Do you think you could be a better leader than any of the guild/faction leaders. How about the Jarls or even a King?: In many aspects yes, unfortunately I have no interest in ruling a virtual world!
Things aren't going your way, do you turn off the game, or do you revert to a previous save to try again?: Depends on far too many factors - how much time I have, how long it would take to correct, how badly 'wrong' things went etc
How do you view the zoomorphic races? Elves? Humans?: I don't really look at what race a character is, doesn't make much difference
Do you perform tasks in your own way, or to-the-letter?: I would say Skyrim doesn't offer an immense amount of choice in this regard, but I do like to explre for options and take the most beneficial one
Stormcloaks or Imperial Legion?: Stomrcloaks so far, but haven't officially joined up yet, and want to speak to the Imperials first
Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood?: Haven't gotten to either of them yet
Is marriage more of a business transaction than about affinity for a NPC?: In game? Don't know that I'd go as far as business transaction, as the choice of NPC does have some impact, but at the same time there's no real choice of whether to do it or not, it's a bonus to obtain from the game with no downside
If you use magic, what do you use it for? On this character, alteration is pretty much just for the magic resistance perk, restoration for the auto-heal perk and between-fight healing
If you use stealth, what do you use it for? Attempting to get the jump on enemies for the most part, but also petty thievery

Factions: Joined the companions. Considering the Thieves Guild, but RPing that as they coereced me.

Priorities(Gold, loot, quests, relationships, etc.)?: I open way too many quests simultaneously. I like to do quests with good loot, but not a priority.

If any of those NPCs were to travel outside of civilization, what would you do, if anything?: Nope. Just be pissed off.

-Currently I have Sneak, Archery, Speech, Lockpicking, Enchanting, Smithing, and Alchemy at 100. One-handed, Light Armor, and pickpocket are in the 90's with Heavy Armor and Two-handed at respectable levels. All of the casting skills still have a ways to go, though.

Criminal History:
-Only what was required of quests (which hardly amounts to any).

Allegiances:
-None.

Factions:
-I've completed all of the factions except Stormcloaks and the Legion.

Horseback or on foot?:
-Horses just get in the way.

Do you spend more time in towns/villages/cities, or adventuring/questing/wandering the wild?:
-Adventuring/questing/wandering the wild.

Do you organize and/or manage your inventories at homes?:
-Yes. I enjoy displaying all of my unique weapons and armor sets.

Do you keep items that you never plan on using?:
-Yes (see above).

Do you pay attention to encumberment on a regular basis?:
-No. This is the only area of the game that I've cheated with. I increased my carry weight for two reasons: Vendors didn't have anywhere near enough gold for me to be able to sell what I picked up, so I was always encumbered even after going back to town; The starting carry weight was way too low, and for me some of the most enjoyable aspects of these open world games are looting and collecting things. Although it's more realistic to only be able to carry a handful of things, it's just not as fun.

Priorities(Gold, loot, quests, relationships, etc.)?:
-Quests - I'm sort of a completionist (completist? completest?), and loot.

How do you get what you want from a NPC?:
-Depends on what I need it for. I don't steal except to level pickpocket. If it's for a quest, I just steal it. If the NPC is a huge jerk or just downright evil, I just kill them instead.

A lone friendly traveler is encountered in the wild, how do you approach him/her?:
-By walking up to them and pressing E (sorry, I'm not much of an RP'er!). It's hard to be cautious of people or creatures in this game because, quite frankly, they didn't make the combat anywhere near difficult enough.

The same lone traveler is non-threatening, yet hostile(possibly of another allegiance or faction)?:
-I generally kill all hostiles unless there's a specific reason not to.

Does apparel/armor aesthetics, practicality, value, or rarity determine use?:
-I use armor based on it's function; because of how powerful smithing and enchanting are, I really just craft my own stuff. A bonus though is that the most functional armor in the game tends to look pretty awesome, too.

Do you prefer purchasing equipment or finding/looting/stealing/discovering for use?:
-Finding; I think it's boring to buy anything in a role playing game. It's far more fun to find items that you can use along the way, or to create your own things.

Do you learn more about your quests, NPCs, and faction before undertaking quests?:
-Sort of. For regular quests, no. I really just try to complete as many quests as I can. However, in quests that have optional components, or in situations where I can only do one quest or another quest but not both, I do try to learn more about the situation before choosing. This also applies to the civil war. Truthfully, I'd rather not join either side; they both seem crappy to me. In terms of how they resemble real life, I am a huge fan of both the old Roman Legion and the Scotland of old (whom the Nords remind me of most; also, most of my bloodline is Scottish/Irish). As someone who likes to try to complete every aspect of a game, it svcks that I am forced to choose between one or the other, especially if neither side is particularly appealing. The Stormcloaks seem to have the better reasoning but are supposedly pretty racist and just sort of terrible. The Imperial Legion is awesome, powerful and organized, but sort of reminds of me a 'big brother' type of militaristic government that I'm not sure I'd want to be a part of.

Do allegiances, morals and beliefs, or other factors determine who you work for/with and the tasks you perform?:
-In some ways, yes. As I stated above, I do try to complete every single quest I can, regardless of the moral implications. However, when there are optional components to a quest or 'this or that but not both' type of quests, then I try and base my decision on morals and beliefs.

When you have companions, do you let them do most of the work?:
-I never bring companions unless forced by the quest (like horses, they just get in the way). In those cases, I basically just go about my business as if they aren't really there. Since I tend to attack in stealth more often than not, I sometimes let my companion be a sort of tank while I pick them off one by one (since quest companions cannot die; if they could I would always try and protect them).

Do you equip them with improved equipment, or let them use what they have?:
-I don't give quest companions anything, but I do try to give my housecarls sets of gear. I've been trying to use them as extra mannequins by giving them full sets of gear I'd like to have displayed in each home (an example being that I want the housecarl in the Markath home to wear full Dwarven gear) , but due to the buggy nature of this game I haven't gotten that to work right yet.

Do you have them carry most of your burden(ex. loot, weapons, armor, etc.)?:
-See above.

Does it bother you when NPCs say bad things about you?:
-I generally ignore them. If the NPC is quest related in some way and there is an option of killing them for the quest (but don't necessarily have to be killed) then I will kill them if they are rude (I would kill rude people in real life if it were legal).

If any of those NPCs were to travel outside of civilization, what would you do, if anything?:
-See above.

Do you give up on difficult quests? Do you plan better for a new approach? Do you see it through, no matter how difficult?:
-Unfortunately this game just doesn't have the difficulty I wish it did. Oblivion and Morrowind also suffered from being too easy. I think it's a scaling issue; the gear and attributes just become too powerful as you level. That, and in Skyrim the ability to improve gear to legendary status and do double enchants, along with using potions and gear buffs to further increase those skills simply makes your character too powerful. Because of this, there really is no such thing as a difficult quest except in the very early parts of the game. Although I will say there are a few quests that involve something such as say, pickpocketing someone. Those types of quests may require a couple of reloads in order to complete correctly. Unless you are a hardcoe RP'er I suppose and would rather deal with the consequences of being caught!

Do you interact with NPCs other than for essential needs, wants, or tasks?:
-No.

Do you lie - when it is an option - to receive a greater reward or information?:
-Very, very rarely. Depends on what the outcome is. I don't lie for rewards or things like that (I have too much gold as it is). There have been times where persuade hasn't worked but intimidation has, so if the lie has to do with something like that I'd do it.

Do you enjoy learning about the land and people of Skyrim and the history of Tamriel?:
-I think the Elder Scrolls has a very rich backstory/lore/history.

Does listening to a NPC's story affect any decisions you make?:
-Depends on the quest. People tend to talk too slow for me (in games and in real life) so I usually end up skipping through a lot of the dialogue. It's almost like, most of the time, I already know what someone is going to say to me before they say it because they take so long to spit it out. Not sure what my deal with that is. Maybe I'm just impatient.

Do you think you could be a better leader than any of the guild/faction leaders. How about the Jarls or even a King?:
-I'm fairly unimpressed with the leadership I've come across in this game so far, save a few. That doesn't mean however that I'd want to have their jobs! Personally, I think the best leaders are often those that don't seek leadership.

Things aren't going your way, do you turn off the game, or do you revert to a previous save to try again?:
-Reload and retry.

How do you view the zoomorphic races? Elves? Humans?:
-Fine by me, though 99% of the time I play a human in RPG's. Even though we're full of faults, I like being human and I enjoy thinking about what we might be truly capable of. Besides, I tend to view other races in games as specific aspects or subsets of humanity. This may be because we've haven't yet encountered other intelligent lifeforms, so all we know how to do is project ourselves onto the ones we create. I think when one chooses to play a race other than human, they're really choosing to focus on a specific aspect of humanity while ignoring the rest. It's like, playing as a part of something rather than being the whole thing - or something..

Do you perform tasks in your own way, or to-the-letter?:
-Usually my own way, depending on the quest (not all quests allow for any 'artistic freedom'). Many of the quests are very straightforward and there's really only one way to complete them (i.e., there are only so many different ways can you steal a bottle of mead, or something along those lines).

Stormcloaks or Imperial Legion?:
-Talked about this in some detail already. As they exist in game - neither. If I could tweak the Stormcloak mentality a little bit, then I'd definitely join the Stormcloaks. As much as I love how the Imperial Legion compares to the Roman Legions, Skyrim is Stormcloak territory and belongs to the Nords. If they were more honorable people, then I'd feel much better about helping them reclaim their lands and drive out the oppressing force.

Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood?:
-Both. These are the two most evil factions in the game probably, and I have to say that in all honesty they have been the most fun so far. I had a little trouble with the DB because (without giving away any spoilers) you do have to do some pretty bad things for their quests. In the end though, it was an awesome quest line in my opinion.

Is marriage more of a business transaction than about affinity for a NPC?:
-I don't believe in marriage in real life so that extends into video games for me. Marriage is a sham. I believe the 'big business' needs to be taken out of marriage and it needs to return to being a religious-only union between two people (and no, I'm not religious). Sorry if I offend anyone, but I think it's absolutely [censored] that people spend tens of thousands of dollars on weddings, wedding rings, inviting hundreds of people, and asking them to dress up way too nice. In my opinion (again, I may offend someone here, but oh well), no decent woman cares about having a fancy ring on their finger. If I ever got married, It'd be low key (close friends and family only), non-religious, and it'd be on a beach somewhere or in the mountains. Or in the forest or something. Something nature-y. And my wife-to-be would be wearing some kind of casual sun dress or something. The attire would be very casual.

So, all of that and I also think it's just plain weird to make a virtual environment that personal. It's a video game, they aren't real people..... just not something I can understand I guess.

If you use magic, what do you use it for?
-Other than for the sake of leveling the skills, I don't use destruction magic really. I can destroy things with my weapons. I like to use magic for things I can't do with a sword. I enjoy magic more for the alteration of reality and the manipulation of others.

If you use stealth, what do you use it for?
-Everything!!! (Seriously)

Only if it's something noteworthy that can be classified as a trophy.

Do you pay attention to encumberment on a regular basis?:
I make a point to travel light, and sell the riches I earn while adventuring/plundering.

Priorities(Gold, loot, quests, relationships, etc.)?:
Gold/Loot/Quests - anything involving glory and power.

How do you get what you want from a NPC?:
By doing whatever is necessary. Nothing more, nothing less.

A lone friendly traveler is encountered in the wild, how do you approach him/her?:
The depends. What are they wearing? How are they armed? Are they a filthy Imperial lapdog?

The same lone traveler is non-threatening, yet hostile(possibly of another allegiance or faction)?:
Never raise your weapon unless you're prepared to kill or be killed.

Does apparel/armor aesthetics, practicality, value, or rarity determine use?:
Practicality is the main issue, followed by appearance. Item value is meaningless if it's something I plan on using.

Nothing that I wouldn't do in civilization. Not that that means anything. Chances are they wouldn't get the chance to leave civilization.

Neither.

As potential sources of profit. Or target practice.
