Reserving Judgement until Academy of Interactive Arts and Sc

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:01 pm

Seriously. I mean, I guess it is some sort of accomplishment, but I'm holding out until the professionals hand down their decision. Spike TV GOTY... in the past they've awarded Grand Theft Auto titles GOTY over games that changed their respective genres and the industry which is what a true game of the year game does. So, as the topic title says, reserving judgment.

If I offered you several food choices, would you first consult with the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences before selecting one?

Can't tell if serious but Skyrim will probably capture that one too. Only competition is Arkham City in my opinion.

So, in the past you've disagreed with them. Enough said. That doesn't mean the games you don't like didn't deserve the title.

What are you talking about, OP? Spike TV is totally qualified to be the preeminent Game of the Year authority.

I didn't say I didn't like Grand Theft Auto. It wasn't GOTY in my eyes, and in the eyes of accredited industry professionals .

Spike TV suggests you can charge a car battery by getting a quick lap dance. I don't think their opinion is really relevant.

Also, I love Skyrim and from what I've seen from this year, it probably will win GOTY. I'm just saying, it hasn't truly won yet.

Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences is controlled by the Thalmor, and they are only giving the GOTY to Skyrim if Bethesda bring back the Magic Resistance bug. So Bretons become powerless and the armies without spellcasters like Stormcloack and the Imperial become easy targets....

Believe me before it is to late!

Well it's a good choice... out of all the various game of the year awards.

I think we do need to decide on one award that defines the true "game of the year" like the oscars do for movies.

OP's choice is good... it's even an acadamy too!

I think I'll join you OP.

I'll be just as happy if they go for Batman AC tbh.

Why is it that people need someone to tell them if a game is good or not? Everyone is going to experience it differently, even if it doesn't win it doesn't really mean it's bad, nor does it mean it's good if it does win. It's silly to get too much into these things.

I think it lost on G4, really there is no true winner, just play the game as you see fit, who cares about GOTY titles?

every other game releases a GOTY version later these days anyway, even the crappy ones
