Resetting Graphics issue:

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:51 pm

Hello all; I seem to have run into an issue. After installing my new gfx card today (Nvidia Geforce 8400gs Turbo Cache) I installed all my mods, and managed to get Oblivion working flawlessly...Except for one rather annoying bug;
At random times, the video settings keep resetting, causing lag as more shadows and details are loaded up. It's frustrating to change it, and it just randomly happens, so I don't know what to do.
I'm pretty sure the problem is caused by streamline, but I don't want to completely disable it. I've tried changing the ini settings, but nothing's working so far.

After you've changed any settings in the ini you need to initiallise them in-game.
Press R-Ctrl and Home to open the ingame menu then navigate to 'initialise ini' option (under special actions I think)

Turn of StreamSmooth in the INI and reset the mod ingame by pressing rctrl+home to bring up the menu, then select Special Actions, Re-Initialize.

1. There is some option in oblivion.ini allows oblivion background files loading . Some tells placebo , some unstable, for me works.
2. I have GTX 460 and it has an option to energy saving .If you have similar, try turn off. Maybe.
3.But really if you cannot changing streampurge option to less aggressive (only fast travel for example) you should learn to live with it,I'm afraid.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm thinking of removing Streamline anyway, and seeing if it makes a difference. How do I uninstall it properly? Simply removing the esp just causes Oblivion to crash at start-up.

1.It seems like missing master error. But ?. Maybe for WB patch. So try rebuild the patch.
2. Maybe you should first load the game ,turn off all streamline functions (you will get menu by CTR + home, if I remember) ,check difference and decide.
