Resetting Quests

Post » Sat Jun 12, 2010 8:28 am

Hey Guys,

I recently borrowed the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3 from a friend, and I keep running into glitches that won't allow me to finish quests. Some are sidequests, some are main story quests (I think), having never beaten the game I wouldn't know. I would love to finish the game so I could see how the story plays out, but without being able to progress further due to unforseen events and me having to restart from the beginning (I try to not keep extra saves so I can't go back and "change an answer" for say to get a different outcome), I don't see this happening.

Is there a way I can reset certain quests on the Xbox 360 version of this game? Or am I stuck in the loop of constantly having to restart from scratch an make way more saves than nessisary?

Thanks for the help

All you can do is reload an earlier save. What kinds of problems are you having and with which quests? Maybe it's something we know how to fix in-game.

A couple of them really. One was the wedding sceene in Rivet City. All the guests are constantly going to a wedding that isn't happening and just kinda stand there. It makes it really easy to find the persons when I need to, but can't really buy or sell from anyone.

Another one, anytime I go to the GNR, Three Dog is dead, or on rare occasions (Rare being, of the 10 times I've restarted from my save right before exiting the vault or from scratch it's happend twice) He is just gone. No one around, and I didn't shoot him, the only thing I could guess is that he somehow died from over-exposure to radiation, but from what?

I also find myself being followed around to all ends of the earth by a Paladin Hoss and his friend that I rescued, he says they'd escort me around Falls Church, but I assumed he would stop there. It isn't too bad, they don't seem too important so I end just looting them and saving the cool armour an holotags.

Doctor Li, I find either dead, or gone. I've heard stories of them disapering and respawning back at the school in Springvale, but being on the Xbox 360 version, I'm not too sure how I would glitch my way through the walls to get to "limbo" where a few of the guides say people magically respawn and even then, I don't have a clue as to how to get someone to follow me.

This is only a small handful of them, there might be others, but I don't get to them as I restart often. Good news though, this time around, both the Doctor and the DJ are alive an well ^^ (restarted again shortly after the first post)

I'm not sure if this will apply to you, but I know that both Oblivion and Fallout 3 have had patches released for the games, which might have fixed these issues. I've only ever played F3 on the 360 and have never had these issues, because I am certain it has been patched at least once. The catch is, you have to connect to XBox Live and then start the game to be prompted to update it. The update is free, but a Gold membership is not...HOWEVER, I do believe there is a "base" membership you can have for free? I think? It's called Silver. I THINK. Good luck :)
