Residency

Hiyas;

Without giving a Spoiler - as in Fallout New Vegas, do we at some stage in the game gain access to our own personal place to live?

Or, if not, is it possible to build one that settlers don't have access to, preferably outside a settlement?

I'm currently living in Sanctuary, in my pre-war house and it bugs me that settlers keep wandering in and out and sometimes even sleep in MY bed, lol!

Cheers,

Chadwick

You should be able to kick them all out of sanctuary I think, maybe. If not you can indeed get a place of your own and you can also make a settlement your own by kicking others out/killing them and not building the recruitment tower.

Yes, you will have access to places (outside your settlements) that are yours alone.

That said it seems like a lockable door that only opens for the SS or floor tiles that settlers can't walk on should be added in the future.

Dunno if this helps, but I found out recently that you can at the very least assign each settler to a specific bed. Don't know if that will keep them out of an area you want for yourself, but at least you can keep them out of your bed!!

Some people have to stay at sanctuary. After doing a restart i notice that Sturges seems to think sanctuary is his baby. You can gain some other empty settlements and make that your main place though. One random dude may show up uninvited but he can be sent away, and some other settlements have some named people who may or may not leave if asked but some are empty. You can also buy a house somewhere. You can also leave a gap you have to jump into your house that npc's can't cross. Or dont have any doors or windows and put the spawn point inside your sealed off structure.

Mild Spoiler:

Spoiler
Have you found the storm cellar in Sanctuary? It's behind the bluish house off the roundabout, not far from the workbench. It's a separate "room" within Sanctuary and settlers don't go down there. That's good for some privacy, if you want.
