so, I love zombie flicks, and being a zombie flick and based on a video game(loosely), I therefore Love Resident Evil(don't care what anyone else says, I think they are all good). I have, however, always wondered one thing: How did the virus spread after the 2nd movie? It has never been fully explained what happened/where another outbreak occurred. I'm pretty damn positive it couldn't possibly have been related to Raccoon City, I mean, they dropped a freaking nuke on the city and wiped out everything living/undead within a large radius. My wife says maybe a zombie escaped, but most of the plot of the 2nd movie is based at/around the gates and the fact that Umbrella had all entrances to the city blockaded and were shooting anyone trying to get out. So....how did the virus spread from the end of the 2nd movie where the outbreak appeared to be wiped out, to have completely spread over the entire globe and virtually wiped out Humanity in the third?

Solid Facts or Theories are welcome(Not sure there are any solid facts, so I imagine it will all be Theory).

I suggest you read the book of the movie it greatly expands on what happend afther the second movie. It tells how the little girl(i forgot her name) was killed by alice and how that was the reason she left the rest, it tells what happend to jill and how she ended up in georgia and what she was doing during the third movie. But on why the virus spread it wasn't all contained in raccoon city and a few minor people infected got throught the screening. I find the book a lot more satifying than the movie.

I really like the resident evil movies even though they aren't really good or anything BUT I think you just have to accept that these movies are made on a "somehow" basis. You just have to accept that SOMEHOW the virus has spread between 2 and 3 also SOMEHOW the birds in 3 turn into zombies however in 4 they are normal again. Also SOMEHOW Chris and Claire get reunited in 4 by coincidence which to me seemed to be a little unlikely but hey miracles still happen...this+a lot more lol....
