Respawning too slow!

Holy carp you must be this new generation of CoD bred gamers... Really, really, sad how bad kids are now a days and have no idea what a skilled game is.

I am going to say this once (I'm new to the forums first post :thumbsup: I'm coming from the MLG community) CoD is absolute complete and total trash of a FPS.


Well, not all of them were "complete trash."
As for the new ones, I'll agree with you. Black Ops kept up the high hopes of the CoD players yet it failed in my opinion, and a majority of others it seems after the last news piece I read.
Its unfinished and buggy as [censored].

I play it because I don't own any better shooters besides TF2 at the moment, and I'm tired of it.


i thought this thread was over when i finished with a " YOU. GOT. BRINKED." and saying anything more to the OP is useless, that jerk.off left two pages ago, i say we close this thread and sticky it, also, rename it to "WHO WE DONT WANT" and this thread contains the words of a mutated form of cod fan [censored], we should look for a way to prevent it from happining to others, it might spread.

Euhm just for the record : the term GOT BRINKED is only applicable when you succesfully change one opinion about Brink from contra to pro .


E.g: Some time ago there was a link to a preview on a gaming website and some random dutchie said that Brink would totally fail and that the whole team based objective concept is d o g s h i t (pardon me :P) . After he commented a lot of other people like us explained why this would make a good game just like we all did on this thread. So eventually he said he was going to order it.


Now that's when somebody got Brinked ;)

Brink isn't an FPS, its more than that. Technically, you can't give it a short abbreviation.
FPOMMS?

BRINK is a FPS. There's no arguing about it. That being said, the render-trailer is OMGWTFBBQ!?, but it's not really BRINK. Hence why so many ... persons ... get here.

Taking into account that Blops has been sold some million times on the PC alone, it's quite poor with just about 45.000 players a day (I actually found the stats page yesterday and it was at a ~47.000 peak).

Still, Steam got the best statistic system on PC, and we have a lot of CoD [censored] on every platform. I think PS3 and Xbox players are disappointed too, just like the PC gamers.

0respawn timer=> revive has no use, nearly none at least
objectives get a lot harder to complete
operatives have no chance of survival since they'll meet the one they dressed up as 5-10seconds after killing him.

And the stats I find extremely interesting, actually. Thanks. :)

I could tell, when I stopped playing TF2, that a lot less people were on at any given time. But I had no idea the stats would look like that.

That is the problem with the gaming industy today because of one game that makes millions ALMOST every developer feel this is the way to make games...this is why we have many boring and generic shooters to because they are using COD as a benchmark to follow..completly wrong thinking here. People use sales = great game when it actual fact this isn't a great measure of game. Look at McDonalds they make billions of dollars of making unhealthy burgers does that mean they are the food chain to follow when open up restaurant that servers burgers....no way! COD is well COD and Brink is Brink there no comparision. Enough Said!

I'm sure each server will be able to decide the respawn time. Just find a server with what you like and stick with it. All will be well.

In sort of a weird way, having no mods on console can be looked at as a plus, since you'll always be able to play vanilla Brink. I remember going back to W:ET after a long hiatus, and finding it nearly impossible to find a server that wasn't running custom content.

I'm sorry, but this is the dumbest idea I've ever heard of. No one likes staring at a respawn timer, but I think most people appreciate respawns taking time. In Objective type games no timed respawn would be a horrible idea. Please think about what you post before you post it or stop trolling.

I can agree. Crysis 2 plays a crap load like COD, well the multiplayer at least.

Is this what everyone is hyping about? I mean, it was OK, at it's most, but really.. :l It felt like playing Call of Duty, except.. Terribad

My two cents,

I'd rather have a few seconds to crack my knuckles and be shellshocked about what just happened, then have to stand at respawn point for a few seconds....then run to battle, who likes running 4ever to battles to compensate for instant respawn anyway?

Funny, I thought the same when I played it as expo-demo last year (exactly the same demo, btw.).

OP has a point, but hasn't made it very well. I think instant-respawn works well in a Team Deathmatch. But objective modes require respawns for balance. Sure, it might be boring watching a timer tick down. But it's better than an unwinnable game and making a whole class useless.
