no response no support by January 19th - get your refund now

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 7:32 pm

Steam has it's last refund day today, if you're unsatisfied with the support, and the game's performance/content. I recommend going and getting your refund. Why pay for a game that you can buy half price when they fix everything? Or buy when the GOTY comes out?

This is just another attempt to piecemeal a game out to you, for $100+, a game that at least on the forums they are providing no acknowledgement of the problems, or any timetable for support.

If you're stuck playing other games due to the optimization here, why not refund and keep playing those games until it's fixed?

You are going to find precious few people asking for a refund. Compared to MGS5 and Witcher 3, this is a far better value for your gaming dollar.
It is kind of humorous expecting Bethesda to respond to complaining on a community forum.

The vast majority of people playing this game love it. I can't imagine asking for a refund after dumping 40 hours into this game.

Um few people asked for a refund for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

You are thinking of Batman: Arkham Knight and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Refund nothin. Im not taking back a perfectly great game. All everyone does is [censored] and moan and not focus on whats good about it. No one gives them a chance to fix whats wrong. These things take time. You expect them do it now now now and thats just unrealistic.

Dont think any of those games Fallout, MGS or Witcher can be compared their apples and oranges and Witcher sold phenomenally well with little to no advertising.

Looking at steam stats their all similar in online gaming population with FO4 leading the way and a few behind is MGS and Witcher... Surprisingly FO3 and FONV are also way up on the list, figure that out?

Uh... What? The Witcher 3 sold over 16 million units within its first 6 weeks. So far Fallout 4 has sold about 12 million. It's possible Fallout 4 will have numbers equal if not higher than TW3, however that's not guaranteed. MGS V, on the other hand, was overrated.

With respect to the topic, I was unfortunately one of the few to come across a game breaking bug impeding my progress through the main quest, which also impedes my progress with the BoS. Other than that though, the game is a blast and I'd had little to no issues. The game has been out nine days. Do you honestly believe BGS is going to be able to roll out fixes that quickly?

I have no intention of getting a refund. Firstly because it's great and secondly because I bought a physical retail version.

I would however also like to know wtf January 19th has to do with anything.

Pretty sure first of all the game + season pass is $90 not +100.

And people have dumped hundreds of thousands of hours in the game already. It is no way unplayable.

Completely truthful criticism below.

There are bugs. These should be fixed.

The weapons are very off cannon, i think certain areas should be fixed. The us military or civilians pre war certainly did not use pipe pistols. This is my opinion though.

The settlement interface is terrible, BGS could do a lot to make it usable, they also could make settlements more intuitive and useful.

The main story is very weak and your character in no way acts like someone who lived before the Great War one day then the next woke up in the wasteland.

As with most BGS games each individual component is mediocher by its self but the total package is much greater than the sum of its parts.

I waited for release of Fallout 4 and even bought a new gaming computer to play it on but the game crashes causing reboots. Besides the bugs, it appears that Bethesda wants to prevent privacy which is a big problem on PCs. Bur Bethesda went too far. So even after registering Fallout 4, I needed to install Steam (8 hour download) and create an account there. So my PC is tied to that Steam Account and Stream runs on the Internet.

If the game runs about 300 hours I cannot afford The Net time and why would I as a single user?

I was able to run Fallout 4 offline line as the Steam verification screen did for a time allow offline play but then changed back to the requirement of an Internet connection. Cruel.

Although there are very real bugs in this initial release, Bethesda offers a self help checklist requiting the user to spend even more time in applying workarounds, instead of issuing new versions, which it will eventually when word gets out of the bugs.

I think he's referring tot he people suffering from major bugs, not people who just dislike the game. Some people can't even get it to start, and anyone with a high end gaming PC and monitor is having massive problems with the game going into superspeed or crashing whenever you try and exit a computer terminal.

Also for those like me who are left handed and can't rebind the keyboard properly so they effectively can't play comfortably.

steam is a joke. there support is all but worthless, and you can NEVER close your account. My account was hacked, but what does steam do? Nothing, they dont even care...... I basically got a big "tough [censored]" from them. Plus i cant shut down the account, soooooo, guess im going to go change all my bank account numbers and credit cards.

Uh... What? The Witcher 3 sold 4 million in its first two weeks. I very much doubt that quintupled in the subsequent two weeks. Source?

Pretty sure Fallout 4 already beat the Witcher 3 in sales. Doesn't really say anything about either game's quality, Bethesda simply has the bigger and more entrenched fanbase. CDPR is doing great, but let's not blow that success way out of proportion lol.

... Fallout 4 does not require a connection to play on Steam, in fact virtually no steam game requires a connection, it's just vital for multiplayer games.

http://www.gamersnexus.net/industry/2083-the-witcher-3-budget-breakdown

I stand corrected. I looked again and the game sold over six million within its first six weeks. Although, I have no idea how many copies have been sold since then as many months have passed. Fallout 4 has likely exceeded it, but it's a bit of an unfair comparison as CDPR is a PC-centric developer with TW3 being its first multiplatform title. TW1 never even came to consoles and TW2 came to the Xbox 360 a year after it was released on PC.

BGS obviously has an install base due to making games on consoles since Morrowind and all of their titles gaining critical acclaim and being GotY. That being said, it would be interesting to see how much TW3 has sold now. I actually think TW3 has sold more on PC than Fallout 4, which isn't too surprising as BGS is largely a console developer now while CDPR continues to make PC its premiere platform.

Pretty sure the pipe pistols are the wasteland technology developed AFTER the war; they're the low-tech 'modern' guns.

Exactly!

What on earth are they doing in locked pre war bunkers???

Thats my point.

Same thing searching prewar coolers and finding radroach meat.

The loot tables are off something fierce.
