Restarting again - MinMax tips?

Post » Sun May 25, 2014 8:36 pm

After not having played for 2 years I'm thinking about restarting a modded Vegas game again.
I'm a bit of an OCD min-maxer and prefer to not miss out on upgrades (that aren't retroactive or can be missed). Could some of you veterans refresh my memory on what things to do "asap"?
Example: I remember something about not leveling up before you for the +1 intelligence upgrade on the aircraft carrier..(?)
It's been a while since i last played. Help me out please :)

The aircraft carrier is in F3, not New Vegas.

New Vegas doesn't have bobbleheads, so you don't have to worry about missing one that you can't go back for.

Actually I don't think there is much you could miss, and not be able to go back for later. DM is the only DLC that you have to do and get everything the first time, since you can't go back to it.

A lot of min-max players tend to set Charisma at 1, if you don't mind missing out on some perks.

If you set Endurance at 10, this lets you buy the max number of upgrades from the New Medical Clinic.

Setting Luck to at least 7, makes it easy to win at blackjack in the casinos, you'll need the money for the expensive upgrades.

OWB is the other place to buy upgrades, three of them are free(and involuntary), you can reverse them later if you want.

This is just some general ideas, I'm sure others will have more detailed suggestions.

There are the seven snow globes to collect in the vanilla game, plus one in each DLC. Don't kill House before turning in the seven, or you won't get paid for them. You will get paid for the DLC snow globes no matter what.
