Rested Experience in ESO?

Post » Sun Dec 29, 2013 4:30 am

I was wondering if Rested Experience should be included in ESO? One argument for it allows more casual gamers to stay on par with other players and adds more value to the subscription fee. Basically you get the rested state while in an inn. Thoughts?

It would be nice if you get a bonus the next time you play when you end your last session in a Inn or your home.

Rested experience will never be that grate so it will help any casual gamer to keep up with the rest so for that reason it's pointless. Only time I have seen rested exp have had any impact is when you're leveling multiple alts at the same time.

Having rested exp for the sake of having rested exp is also a bad idea. I hate to out level content I want to do just because of some exp boost system. I want a level lock in that case. And yea I give a [censored] about low lv PvP so I don't care if you QQ over twinks because of a level lock.

However if there are rested exp in the game I won't quit playing it. But it's pointless to have as it does not do what it is meant to do... help casual players. And if it did help casual players it would just be a instant max level button witch would just ruin the fun of the game.

No idea, but bear in mind that levelling to 50 is only a small part of ESO. Rested XP makes far less sense in an MMO with so much emphasis on lateral progression, and so many rewards for activities other than simply grinding. Exploration and questing are where you're gonna get most of your skill points, not level ups. I mean, think about it, there are literally hundreds of skills. You level up 49 times. That alone should tell you something.

I for one hate getting too much experience while questing and thus over-level quests. Quests are NO fun if you are 2-3 levels above the mobs, but I frickin' wanna do all quests in the first run!

So the classic answer: Put it in the game but enable us to switch it of.

Well in ESO you get not a single skill by means of character level.

Yup, A skill point to use to unlock skills/morph them. Can also get skill points through completing sections of your primary storyline quest, and collecting soul shards (one point per 3 shards collected)

To prevent being over-leveled by rested experience, the developers could balance it out. For example, while in the rested state, quests will get you +10% experience and killing mobs will grant you +25%. This benefit will only last a short while, but would be a nice benefit to casual gamers. I'm confident the devs could balance it out. Thoughts?
