Retexturing a object

Hey guys got another problem i would love for you to help me with ^.^ i am trying to make a stage but cant really find a decent substitute so i used these wooden cubes and scaled them up but i want to retexture them to suit the walls and floor abit more but when i go to retexture i get another invalid directory error

so i used the FO3 archive utility to extrace all the files on to a external then i do this create a new texture

then i do this and choose any old texture just to make sure it works

but then BAM! this error that really upsets me D=

this is the stage in question that doesnt really fit in with the rest of the setting

any help or another way to retexture this box with out breakin all the other boxes in the game would be very helpful thank you in advance =D

cheers kanoba

You can only use textures in the games /data/textures/ folder and no-where else.
