Retreiver Module - reset after every restart

The Retriever module is odd in the way that it's status is stored. We all know that it often resets itself for no reason, won't survive a re-install etc. Suggesting it is maybe the only stat that is stored on your own client and not in the cloud.

Mine wasn't registering at all - I had my game.cfg file set to read only. I changed the game.cfg from read only and since the module will register Retriever stats but they still reset after every restart.

Is anyone else playing on Windows 8 (I think permissions changes in this OS may be the cause) or knows where this stat is recorded?
