Return of the cliffracers

Post » Fri May 21, 2010 4:37 pm

You play as mublablabla, cliffracer-born and heir to the throne of Cliffracer island. There will be an infinite number of cliffracers in the game and most, appart from a few crucial boss fights, will therefore appear randomly. Cliffracers attack in groups, but not all at once. First one cliffracer will approach you and, when your healthbar is low, two more will appear out of the blue to kill you off. The player will be able to gather cliffracer shouts. Cliffracer shouts are annoying bird noises that has the ability to grow grey hair and wrinkles on people who are exposed to these for a long time. Cliffracers have really cheezy combat animaton, but they still deal a great amount of damage. Never try to flee from a cliffracer fight, they will hunt you down and kill you. If you are on a quest to accompany an NPC as a bodyguard on their pilgrimage, this NPC will be in serious danger of being killed by a cliffracer. Killing an extrodinary amount of cliffracers will have absolutely no impact on the total population of cliffracers on cliffracer island. If you escape from a dungeon to rest and restore your healthbar there will be a cliffracer waiting for you outside. The game will involve absolutely no fast travel and no quest hints will be given. In order to complete a quest you have to follow directions like "turn left when you see the third big rock" or "the great big oak", all the while fighting off an endless stream of cliffracers. The game will include a storyline and all the well known features that make up a classic RPG, but 99 percent of the gameplay will involve walking through endless mountain areas fighting cliffracers. You cannot at any time rest to restore your health because there will always be a cliffracers nearby. Remember to stack up plenty health potions as you will soon run out.

Post script: In order to be accepted as a full member in the Cliffracer Island Mages Guild you have will have to aquire 5 samples from each of the species in the complete flora on the island as well as five thousand cliffracer ears (If you are a member of the Tribunial Temple you may have to take a vow of silence during this mission. This will mean that you'll have to kill even more cliffracers to get where you wanna go). When this task is done you have to search the Guild for the catwomans stolen scrolls.

I would prefer to have a variety of flying enemies than swarms upon swarms of cliffracers. I'm not a fan of those bastards.

All cliffracers are cloned from the same cliffracer queen. There are no UFOs on Cliffracer Island. Only cliffracers.

I think cliffracers might actually make it to Skyrim. If you look up on lore, they drove the dragons away from Vvanderfel. Afterwards, the cliff racers themselves were driven out of Vvanderfel by Saint Jiub. This means the cliff racers and dragons are enemies of sorts. And it could also mean that the common cliff racer is stronger than the mightiest dragon. And it could also mean that Saint Jiub is immortal. Oh wait, he`s dead.

If you`re bothered by cliff racers... or... err... dragons, then just download a mod that makes them neutral towards you.

Ahem... I hope you`re not a console player. A simple mod on a PC can make miracles..

Didn`t he only drive them out of Vvanderfel? I`m going to recheck this.

Edit:

"Jiub is the first person you see in the game, a male Dunmer, and a fellow prisoner on the ship where you wake up. After your initial introduction, you will never see him again. However, he is later referred to as "Saint Jiub" in Oblivion, as the mysterious hero who somehow drove all the Cliff Racers from Vvardenfell. It is also mentioned that he was killed by the Daedra during the Oblivion crisis."

If they ever reappear in the game, there better be a Shrine to Saint Jiub hidden somewhere in the eastern mountain range. Effect for a week after a prayer on site: all cliff racers on the whole game areas will be temporarily gone.

Cliff racers didn't kill Dragons...they just ate up all the food...Dragons tried to munch on the Cliff racers, but there were too many...so they left..and those Dragons are not Akatoshes Dragons....

I'm not sure that the cliff racers physically drove the dragons out of Vvardenfel. They may have screwed up their food supply...or maybe kept them up nights with that damn screech.

Ah, got distracted. /\/\

You misunderstand. The Elder Scrolls have spoken of their return and since we didn't heed the warnings their return is ineviteble.

I can see it now...

Todd Howard: "We had dragons all ready, but it turns out there's been a slight complication. Saint Jiub drove the Cliff Racers out of Morrowind, which in-turn drove the dragons out of Skyrim and into High Rock. They, in turn, drove the Bretons into Hammerfell, which drove the Redguards into Cyrodiil and Valenwood. The Redguards in Valenwood met with the Bosmer and decided to leave, then taking up more space in the lands of Elsweyr, similar to their land of Hammerfell and decided to stay.

"The Khajiits got fed-up with all the human intrusion, and stormed into Cyrodiil. The Imperials couldn't stop the Skooma and Moon Sugar trade, and fled to Black Marsh. The Argonians traced this ridiculous path all the way back to Jiub, and it was the final straw; they attacked Morrowind and freed the slaves.

"So that's why there are no more dragons in Skyrim. Instead, you'll fight off hordes of Cliff Racers."

I want cliff racers back. Call me crazy, but I want them back in mass numbers! More than ever before! What if the ending in Skyrim had you let loose millions of Cliffracers to drive the dragons and Aldiun out of the land!

Ive been telling people for months now:

Cliffracers were the simplest creature to kill in Morrowind. Use the lightning sword you find from the jump scroll moron or get a cheap lightning spell. I am still flabberghasted by how much people were bothered by them...

To be honest I don't understand why everyone hates cliffracers
I found them as annoying as any other hostile wildlife, so as far as I care, they can be present in Skyrim
