I could imagine the rise in the southern states of the old USA a new version of the Confederacy.

Would it be slave based and what if it was based on the slavery of ghouls?

Would it have plantations of mutated plants?

How technologically advanced would it be?

Would it use mutated horses, dogs and have herds of livestock?

How would it relate to such factions as the Enclave, the Brotherhood of Steel, the New California Republic and others?

How would it deal with such threats as radscorpions, supermutants, feral ghouls and raiders?

Please respond to this idea and suggest other older type nations or other kinds of factions that might return, from history, to existence in the Wastelands.

Will add positive, well thought out suggestions to poll.

i dont think the Confederacy will rise again, but it would be awesome for Nazis to rise from the German ruins

BadVoodoo and TheChosenOne, I was thinking in terms of what would be interesting in game terms and not would be historically accurate.

Well then, stripper army wielding chainsaws and minguns.

The only way I could see a faction being formed like the Confederacy would be if the NCR took over a large amount of land, and tried to change its ways to quickly. While they do the later all to often I don't really see them grabbing that much land in one fell swoop to quickly. However slavery is allowed almost everywhere outside of the NCR. The tribals could almost be viewed as a Confederacy as they are each governed individually, and yet they have trade, and travel amongst each other.

That being said I still voted that it could be a possibility. If The Legion does magically crumble with the death of Eddie (I don't think it will, but who knows) then odds are the tribes will fall back into there old ways. However their would still be a bond that may form them into a Confederacy(ish) alliance.

I also voted for a tribe to form into a Communist Peoples 'Democratic' Republic because... well it would be hilarious, and I don't really understand why it has not happened. I do have the feeling it will be done one of these days.

I disagree, one could definantly form on its own with the hostile threat of mutants out there.



I think Caesar's Legion should and will be around for decades, maybe out living the NCR if they don't get their [censored] together.



I agree, I'd love to see a communist group in the wasteland, it makes sense and it would be funny.

Why would the Confederacy return? It really makes no sense. When the U.S. fell, people didn't come together to reform it. Why would the CSA be reformed?

I honestly do not think any of those will be a possibility due to the current environment. Instead, something else will arise. Most likely some form of feudalism.
