Return of the Dwemer: Bad Idea

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 10:12 pm

there is a lot of questionable guesswork in the op, and conjecture. One problem I have with that theory of what happened is the fact that not all were taken/left. If what you say is true, all dwemer would have been taken. But they werent. yagram was away..but that wouldnt matter, distance isnt relative when youre talking about mundus.
How is that a problem with the theory? All of the Dwemer became the skin of Numidium except for Yagrum Bagarn, and some theorize that that is why Numidium did not become active. Where's the problem?

The Surrender of Alinor happened in one hour, but Numidium's siege lasted from the Mythic Era until long into the Fifth. Some Mirror Logicians of the Altmer fight it still in chrysalis shells that phase in and out of Tamrielic Prime, and their brethren know nothing of their purpose unless they stare too long and break their own possipoints.

So is he saying that Numidium is outside of time and the time it spent outside of time was the equivalent of only one Tamrielic hour, but for everyone else "inside of" time the siege lasted for eras? Just curious. A lot of what I've read from MK is absolutely mind boggling.

Anyways, I'm of the mindset that bringing the Dwemer back as a full race (playable or not) is not a good idea. I don't feel it would be possible to give them the full justice they deserve, as well as them, from my understanding anyways, looking fairly similar to Altmer and already having plenty of Mer races to choose from.

Now if them "coming back" would mean Numidium coming back to Mundus, then I'd be all for that. Perhaps having the only way to destroy it be removing it's skin/the Dwemer from it and sending their souls into the Dreamsleave (or where ever you go when you die). I'm not very knowledgeable on all the specifics yet but I'm just spit ballin' here with my very limited knowledge. Basically, I would love for the Brass God and the Dwemer to be the main theme, just not if it ends up with them coming back and just assimilating themselves into the series like the other races.

Also, IMHO, it'd make for one hell of a teaser trailer. Showing Kagrenac and some other Dwemer preparing, getting quick glimpses of him with keening, wraithguard and sunder, a fade to black, " In Season/Month 20##", a shot of Kagrenac performing the final spells, the sound of the tools clanking and falling to the ground, "The Dwemer... Return...", then the sound of whatever time opening up would sound like, maybe some screams, and then just loud footsteps of something very big and metal. Then queue epic TES theme and TES VI logo.

I think you have it backwards. For everyone who experiences time, it only lasted one Tamrielic hour. For everyone outside of time (Numidium and the Altmeri Mirror Logicians) it lasted into to the Fifth Era. Hence, it is widely speculated that Numidium will return in the Fifth Era.

So are these Logicians from the fifth era, or earlier? And they can just phase in and out of time (if they are from an earlier era, do you not age outside of time)?

They're from the Mythic Era, I'd assume, since that's when the siege began. And yes, if you're outside of time, then you do not age.

The best of the Altmeri wizards don't mess around.
