I am a veteran Oblivion player but I am returning to the game on PS3 after a long time.
There are multiple editions like GOTY and 5th anniversary edition so I am unsure which one to purchase.
I want all the DLC and expansions.

You can′t get all the minor DLCs on the PS3, they′re only available on Steam and on the KotN retail disc.
But I′d say it′s a close call between the GotY and the 5th Anni. They both contain Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles with the addition of a making-of documentry in the 5th.
As far as I know, no. Sorry. They really didn′t favor the PS3 for some reason.
But I′d say get the 5th. It has some nice artwork in it as well as the documentary
That bold part is confusing are you saying the KotN PC retail disc?
So the KotN PC retail has the main game, that expansion and all the other mini expansions? Interesting
Slight misunderstanding, I′m afraid
The KotN retail disc has the KotN questline of course, and all minor DLCs except Fighters Stronghold. It doesn′t have the main game or anything else.
so you're telling me i'd need the main game dic, and the KotN disc? bit dumb tbh
You may as well get the GOTY edition then get the other dlc separately
The dlc (with the exception of KOTN, which is really closer in scope to an expansion like SI) are not in the GOTY.
It would probably make more sense to you if you knew the original release order...
The main game came first, followed by the Shivering Isles Expansion (sold separately.) Then the various DLC, including KOTN, came out, and were packaged together as another "expansion." Finally, the GOTY edition came out, with the main game, SI, and KOTN, while the rest of the DLC were on sale for several years in Bethesda's online store.
The smaller DLC were never ported to PS3. They don't exist for that platform.
A small correction here. The base game was released in March, 2006. The first seven DLC (minus Fighter's Stronghold) were released throughout 2006 and collected in the disc version of Knights of the Nine in November, 2006. Shivering Isles was released in March, 2007.
As long as you don′t use this everytime you′re wrong
Btw, was the KotN retail disch ever released for the Xbox and PS3?
