Returning to the Nevada

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 5:43 pm

So I've just had Steam reinstall and DLCify my copy of New Vegas, and other than the obvious choices of 8 months ago, am I missing any must-have mods/unofficial patches for New Vegas?

So far, I've got:
  • NMC's Texture pack (going light for this one. Yes even when my PC can handle Skyrim at 60FPS with tons of HD texture packs, I know ye-olde New Vegas engine is old..)
  • Personal choice for character improvement mod/s (obviously, open to suggestions however)
  • Project Nevada
  • FOOK (currently cant find the gamesas forum thread for this one to see if it'll work with Project Nevada. If anyone can point me in the right direction...)
  • WMX (glad to see its still around)
  • EVE (never did get to try this because when I stopped FNV, EVE didnt play well with PN. Has this changed?)
  • Anything else I missed thats now become a must-have since 8 months ago?

Nevada Skies makes night vision worth while with the added bonus of rain and sandstorms.

Fook can, and will work with PN. Just make a merged patch with FNVedit.

Also, you might want the Script Extender and a mod manager.

PN, WMX and EVE work together seamelsly, you just have to install all compatibility patches. If you are going to use energy weapons, I recommed you http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41585 mod.
As for must haves - http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=44515.

If you can run Skryim with HD texture mods then you can use HD mods in New Vegas, and since the engine is older it would most likely run better anyway.

also World of Pain is terrible, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone personally.

I'm a huge fan of Classic Fallout Weapons. That's a great mod. I also like Powered Power Armor.

Well, Shojo Race and associated mods are must haves for my characters, but it depends on what you want to play as, I suppose.

EVE is also must have for me since I use energy weapons.

There are a couple of lighting mods I use, too.

I tried VVV but it made the game unplayable for me.

However, the MoMod and its associated mods are nice, although they seem to occasionally cause my game to freeze.
