Revealing the unseen bug ps4

Post » Sun Oct 30, 2016 10:45 pm

Hello,

I am having big trouble with the quest Revealing the unseen of the college of winterhold on PS4.

I need to speak to Mirabelle to start the quest but the problem is that the quest marker to locate Mirabelle is located way out of the map to the northeast at the edge of the map in the ocean. I tried to get there but at some point I reach the limit of the map and get a message that I can't move forward.

I do not have an old save to reload before I got the quest so I can't go back and this is quest is the main line of winterhold.

I tried waiting, reloading, doing other quests, ect but nothing changes.

Is there a way to fix this? If it can't be fixed, does it mean I just can't finish the winterhold quests?

Many tx,

r.

There is a similar bug known apparently: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Revealing_the_Unseen

Perhaps this thread will help (edit: having scanned over it, I see it may not be of much use on console - still, I'll leave the link here): http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/615803-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/60983467

The only other thing I can suggest is to reload to an even earlier save and see if that works.

Tx, I had read that thread before posting here but it doesn't work for me.

I only used auto save since I started the game and when I try to load an earlier save, I can only see the last 3 auto saves which by now are way past the quest start. The only other save is the first save after the tutorial but I am a good 10h past that now. I don't want to restart the game...if it can't be fixed I guess it's back to bf1...

Why the hell is there no way to restart a quest on console?

I suppose it's because it would require the game to reverse scripts (which could cause further bugs with related quests) and change journal entries etc., and of course it could be used as an exploit to cheaply gain XP. Bethesda would have to reduce the player level and un-unlock perks, and it could screw up AI that levels with the player.

The most practical and prudent option is just to keep a good number of saves.

Sorry to disappoint.
